Sparkling Hot Tub!-Amazing Mt and Lake Views-Serenity-Abundant Wildlife

Treat yourself! Enjoy incredible views, wild turkeys, the incredible Hot Spring Spa with a glass of wine overlooking it all. There is also so much to see within a short drive. Take a scenic drive right from the property all the way up to Mesa Grande and around to Santa Ysabel and back to the Lake View Retreat. Maybe take in a beautiful hike on Santa Ysabel West or Three Sisters Falls. Or visit one of the incredible wineries close by.

Finish the evening with a glass of wine as you soak in the hot tub overlooking the breathtaking scenery and enjoy all the incredible birds visiting the feeders and bath. Top that off with a long hot outdoor shower. Incredible sunrise and sunset views. Add in the lake views between the oaks and you might think you are in heaven. There are no city lights to dim the stars. No neighbors, just peace. Roast marshmallows around the fire pit, enjoy your meals outside at the large iron table and comfy chairs. Depending on the time of year you might wake up to deer and turkeys staring in the window. We are sure you will find your stay delightful. The house will be thoroughly sanitized before your stay. Peaceful Retreat

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this is the perfect place to do it. With nature all around you, beautiful views, and a perfect location, you can’t go wrong. This is one of our favorite places to stay and we can’t wait to come back! Lara is the perfect host and makes the whole process from check-in to check-out so easy.

Hidden Heaven

Of all the vacation homes I've stayed at, this one by far is one of the best. Upon entering, the first thing I could not help but notice was how well the house looked maintained. Every window was sparkling clean and everything was in good working condition. The kitchen was well stocked and had plenty of counter top space for cooking. The house is beautifully decorated and so very comfortable. The views are beyond amazing. Bring binoculars!!!!! I saw lots of deer roaming around. At night, I would sit out on the patio in the dark and stare at the starry sky. The feeling of stillness and calmness is very noticeable because It's incredibly quiet. No city noise or lights. For fun, I walked from the house down to CA-78. Round trip was about 2.5 miles. Along the way you'll see great views of the lake and you'll pass several working ranches. I saw horses, buffaloes, mules, and turkeys. While I was there, the Santa Ana winds hit hard. The wind is no joke in this area. The homeowner notified me that the power was going to be turned off as a fire precaution. I was so grateful to hear that they not only had back up battery power and they also had a generator as backup for such situations. Now that's what I call a Wisdom Win. They continued to keep me updated and made sure I was comfortable. I'll definitely be coming back to visit a magical place!!!!

Hidden gem in Romona

This is a beautiful property! The farmhouse style fits this house. From the high end finishes inside to the beautiful porch ambiance outside. We enjoyed the hot tub and the media room nightly.

Perfect vacation spot!

We had the most relaxing time with a beautiful view. Lara’s attention to detail in the house made us feel like we were at home…without the stress! She even checked in by text to make sure we got in and everything was ok.Hot tub with an incredible view of the valley and sunset. Clean, updated, with all the amenities. Multiple feeders and native brush attracted all kinds of birds. We definitely hope to go back and stay longer!

Fantastic!

If you are intrigued by the photos and description of The Bluebird Retreat, the place is even better in person! Such a quiet, secluded sanctuary with breathtaking views. The cottage was so well appointed- Lara has thought of everything. We used it as a home base while we enjoyed hiking in the area. It is spotless and comfortable. Whether you are soaking in the hot tub or sitting by the fire pit enjoying fantastic local wine, you can’t help but be relaxed. We loved to watch such a variety of birds and wildlife too. Wonderful Getaway!

This house is so well appointed. The kitchen is very well stocked, beds were very comfortable and the view is stunning! The fire outside and the hot tub were wonderful additions. Lara was an amazing, very responsive host - highly recommend staying in this beautiful home!

We loved this place! Amazing views, and a quiet, beautiful location. We traveled into San Diego every day and it was totally worth the 1 hour commute. We’ll be staying here again in the future.

Perfect!

We spent a week at the Bluebird Retreat while visiting our son and daughter-in-law who live nearby. Lara’s home really felt like home away from home. We had some rainy days, and my daughter-in-law took advantage of the wonderfully stocked kitchen to treat us to some special meals. On a warmer evening, we roasted hot dogs over the fire pit while watching the sunset. The whole house is welcoming and great for relaxing and just hanging out. We especially enjoyed sunrises watching the birds and sunsets in the hot tub. I had a few questions, and Lara was easy to communicate with. We know where we’ll be staying next time we visit the kids. Great relaxing place to stay

Love the location, enjoyed all the wildlife such as seeing deer, squirrels and many different types of birds. We enjoyed the hot tub. The local wineries are very good and the people are so friendly and nice. They really treat you like family. Ate at a couple restaurants and the food was delicious. Enjoyed visiting Julian and Stone brewery.

Charming hillside retreat

Favorite feature: ready-to-use Jacuzzi at 105°. The only neighbors are Bambi's allies: birds, squirrels, butterflies and other enchanting critters.

A slice of heaven

This hidden gem was the perfect get away in the mountains. The home was inviting and beautiful and everything that you needed. The outdoor space and views were spectacular. Add in all the adorable birds at the feeders and it truly was a slice of heaven.
