Food was plentiful hot and so delicious What a star Neil our waiter was . Happy to chat about the area and gave us some ideas of where and what to visit . "This hotel is really run down. Needs a coat of paint & major overhaul. Nothing looked like the pictures. The location is great & the front desk staff are wonderful. So, at least it has that going for it. Breakfast quality was disappointing. Some random buzzer was being tested the 1st morning & woke our young grandkids up. No warning on the buzzer at all. "

"I stayed for one night in May 2026, and my experience was okay. The bed was comfy, and I slept well, and all of the staff I encountered were very kind and helpful. I had dinner and breakfast there, and the food was overall pretty good. However, the property is very dated and when I arrived I found a long piece of wall/wallpaper hanging off the wall beside the main bed. It looked terrible, and the wall beside it was filthy. "Nice breakfast, The property looks the same as it did 5 years ago and has lost that cosy feel. It needs a little TLC and it seems to have lost the ‘Scottish roots’ Staff are very polite but wouldn’t say friendly with almost a passive agressive attitude. "
