⭐️⭐️⭐️☆☆ — Beautiful Resort but Some Disappointing Issues
Royalton Bavaro Punta Cana is a beautiful resort with plenty of activities, and most of the staff were very friendly. Our host Angelo was the highlight of our trip — he went above and beyond and truly made us feel taken care of.
However, a few things brought the experience down:
• Food was underwhelming for a resort of this level.
• Too many vendors on the property and beach. Some looked like actual hotel staff but were selling fake cigars or overpriced items. On the beach we were approached constantly, which made it hard to relax.
• Checkout was frustrating. We followed the instructions to vacate our room by 12pm and wait for our luggage to be picked up, but staff forgot. Then we were nearly charged for “late checkout” even though we were out on time. Thankfully Donald eventually resolved it, but it left a bad impression.
Angelo’s kindness and professionalism were the saving grace and the reason this is 3 stars instead of 2. The resort is gorgeous, but the food, vendors, and checkout experience definitely need improvement
