When we arrived, there was nobody at the front desk except for several other customers. We rang the bell two or three times, still nobody came to check us in. After about 15-20 minutes, I called the corporate number who gave me the hotel number. I called that number, and as the manager answered, he was just coming downstairs from cleaning the rooms. He was very apologetic and sincere, explaining that the cleaning staff had all quit. We got checked in, went to our room, and things just got worse. It was filthy and dingy! We checked the bed for bedbugs, and although we didn’t really see any evidence of bedbugs, the mattress was gross and disgusting! ( I took pictures as proof) We immediately decided there was no way we were sleeping on that bed! We went back to the desk and told the manager what we had seen with the mattress and that we couldn’t sleep in that room. He understood our concerns, but had no other rooms available. We left and booked at a different hotel that was nearby.
