This traditional detached cottage is the perfect choice for families looking to explore the Lancashire countryside, South Lakes and the Fylde Coast. It is conveniently located in the Lancashire village of Forton, just 3 miles from the popular market town of Garstang which offers an abundance of individual shops, cafés, pubs and a weekly market on a Thursday. Brookside Cottage provides a good standard of accommodation, with a great outdoor space, which has a gated area to sit in and watch the brook trickle by.

    Guests can enjoy walks from the doorstep, with the picturesque Lancaster Canal only ½ a mile away for walking, cycling and fishing, or even day boat hire. There are also several fishing lakes available locally. With Scorton village nestling at the foot of the Bowland Fells just 1½ miles away, there is easy access to the Forest of Bowland (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), where guests can enjoy walks on the fells or drive through the beautiful Trough of Bowland.

    There is a highly rated traditional country pub serving food just 400 yards away from the cottage. A wider range of amenities can be found in the nearby historic city of Lancaster, 8 miles away; here you can visit Lancaster Castle, museums or even the Butterfly House at Williamson Park. Windermere, Kendal and the South Lakes are just a 40-minute drive. The popular seaside town of Blackpool, with its beach, famous tower, Pleasure Beach, zoo and Sandcastle Water Park, is also worth a visit. Beach 18 miles. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant 400 yards.

Lots of room and very comfortable. Ideally placed for the Forest of Bowland or the coast and short walk to an excellent pub that did outstanding food.

Excellent location and beautiful cottage

The cottage was very clean, and the host extremely efficient and friendly. Beautiful walks close by, whether it be a country park or beach. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Quality accommodation

Fantastic cottage although so big its not really a cottage!Everything included down to smallest item ,very warm comfortable and welcoming. There were 7 of us and dogs and we had so much room and lots of fun

Lovely cottage

Beautiful home , very clean, excellent kitchen , rooms are spacious and comfortable, and communication with owner excellent. Highly recommend!!!

Great size accommodation.

Great size accommodation.Excellently situated.Would like to return again because of location however accommodation needs some loving care.Although ample size for family of 8 furnishings could do with upgrade.Showers could do with good clean due to mould .Large outdoor space very well maintained .Host excellent left us alone but was contactable if needed.If was upgraded and cleaned a bit more I would definitely return .

Lovely base to visit Blackpool tower

Ideal for our purpose , with good downstairs facilities for our less mobile member member of the party . Clean with everything needed . A bar in the shower downstairs would be a good addition to aid showering for less mobile. Very comfortable and warm ! Excellent stay !

Perfect for us

Location was perfect for our needs. Kitchen was well supplied, which made a nice change to most properties. Everything was clean, neat and comfortable. Sound downstairs doesn't travel upstairs which is great if you have kids sleeping.
