Oceanfront Cottage at the Edge of the Earth, St. John's

  • RedHouseNL, Lane 21 de Castella, es un precioso acogedora casa de campo, frente al mar ubicado entre los acantilados de la bolsa Cove Terranova, con vistas al Atlántico norte. Arriba, que dispone de 2 dormitorios (camas de matrimonio) con increíbles vistas al mar, una pequeña sala de estar para el café o lectura con vistas y un baño completo con bañera / ducha. En la planta baja hay una cocina totalmente equipada, salón con estufa de leña, un "estudio" con los libros y un futón tamaño completo que se dobla hacia fuera para un 5º huésped, y un segundo baño en el estudio con un plato de ducha. El salón es amplio, abierto y espacioso, que ofrece increíbles vistas al mar. A un lado de la sala de estar es un comedor con gran mesa rústica grande para comidas, juegos y me atrevería a decir el trabajo ?!
    La casa también cuenta con una gran cubierta de la parte posterior, con 4 sillas de Adirondack para disfrutar del paisaje y tal vez echar un vistazo a las ballenas y delfines de crucero por. Una cubierta lateral al lado del comedor está equipado con 2 sillas de salón para más de lo mismo!
    A pasos de la Costa Este Trail. A corta distancia de las playas locales. 25 minutos hasta el centro de San Juan.

Great cottage in a perfect location

A lovely little cottage in a great location with perfect views from the back porch. Easy walking distance to the East Coast trail.

Hands down the very best Vrbo experience we've had so far! The owners were on top of everything, flexible with our departure time, and the property had everything we could think of for our extended stay. Unlike most hosts, Kelly actually stopped by to see how things were going and gave lots of good advice about local restaurants and points of interest. The view from the cottage is absolutely breathtaking. We saw at least a dozen whales on the last three days of our visit. We recommend the Red House to anyone wanting a warm and friendly Newfoundland experience.

The views really deliver!

Had an excellent stay! Property was clean and well stocked. Easy drive to St Johns Airport and downtown. The views were unbeatable....we even saw a couple of whales in the cove one night! Definitely one of the best places we've stayed, hope to come back again when we aren't doing tours in town so we can just enjoy the views the whole time.

Lovely Place in Pouch Cove

This was a great place to stay on the Avalon Peninsula. The cottage was immaculate with a terrific ocean view. Beds were comfortable and everything worked. Close to St. John's, hiking trails and nature.

Amazing views

Beautiful property, amazing views and great location. Cottage was perfectly stocked, very clean and beds were very comfortable. Chris and Kelly, the hosts were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend!

We had the pleasure of staying at the little red house for a week and we loved every minute. Kelly was there to greet us and give us the run down of the area. She was friendly and so kind. The views were spectacular and we looked forward to starting each day with a coffee on the deck overlooking the ocean.

Home away from home

The Red House was really a home away from home. We loved every minute there. The house had everything we could have wished for. We had a little hurricane for 2 days and were just watching the weather and the sea from a very comfortable living room. We can highly recommend a stay there and will come back for sure.

We Loved Red House!

Every aspect of our stay was wonderful—communication with Chris and Kelly, ocean views from the deck, bedrooms, living room and dining room, ease of check-in and check out, fully equipped kitchen, availability of washer and dryer. Kelly and Chris have anticipated every need of the traveler. Appreciated the visit from Kelly and learning more about the property, Pouch Cove, and Newfoundland. What a special and memorable visit Thank you!

Didn’t want to leave!

This stay exceeded my expectations! The home is clean, very comfortable and charming. The hosts have thought of everything. We felt at home right away. But the view and the location are so beautiful you can hardly leave the deck. We absolutely loved our time there and would return again in a heartbeat!

This was our second stay at the Red House. It's a great base camp for exploring the beautiful Avalon Peninsula. We hiked many sections of the East Coast Trail and would end the day back at the comfortable and quiet house by the cove - looking out at all the ocean sights and sounds. We saw many whales on the trails and from the house. When we arrived, a big group was feeding right in front with lots of flipper and tail slapping and one memorable breach. This was before we had even had moved in! It's a beautiful little house with wonderful artwork and everything you might need. Sitting out on the deck at the edge of the world is quite an experience. We'd recommend it to everyone.

Red House Pouch Cove

My family was visiting and enjoyed the relaxing and peaceful atmosphere of the red house. Communication was excellent and the welcome gift was very much appreciated. No matter if the weather is good or bad, the experience is always ohenomenal!

It was a spectacular view of the ocean. We managed to see many whales, and iceberg from far away. The property itself was very comfortable and very cozy. Kelly who welcomed us was amazing and easy to reach. Overall, we had a great vacation and looking forward to coming back.

We had a wonderful stay—this property is truly a gem. The view of the cove and ocean is truly spectacular! It’s very comfortable, with thoughtful touches that made us feel instantly at home. The space is beautifully appointed, with touchers that fit the setting tie to Newfoundland and St. Johns. Everything we needed was right at our fingertips—fully equipped and clearly prepared with care. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Cozy house, great view, all the amenities

We enjoyed our stay at the red house. The views were fantastic (when the fog cleared), the house was cozy and well equipped, beds were super comfortable, the only thing we didn't have was lobster crackers! Pouch Cove is pretty much the last stop heading north on the Avalon Peninsula, so it's pretty quiet, exactly what we were looking for in a relaxing vacation. Thanks to Chris and Kelly for a great stay.

Comfortable, peaceful house overlooking the sea

This was our second stay at the Red House and as delightful as the first. The house is light and calming and generously equipped with everything you could possibly need. Proximity to St John’s and the Irish loop is a plus but the highlight is coming ‘home’ to enjoy sitting on the deck - with a book, a coffee, a glass of wine, binoculars to take in the birds and the whales. Thanks again to Kelly for her warm welcome - we hope to be back again.

Attention to detail was amazing. Ample coffee, tea, sugar etc. Amazingly outfitted home lacking nothing. We were greeted by Kelly who was always available if we had a question… A brilliant place, clean and well laid out … Highly recommend it as a place to stay… Five Stars

The Red House has such a Breathtaking view and so Peaceful. Perfect place for home base.

Completely happy with The Red House. Everything was so clean, all our needs were thought out, such as blankets available to use while relaxing on the deck. The ocean view is beautiful. And picking blueberries while hiking the East Coast Trail, everything was perfect. We will be back!!
