"The room was comfortable, and being able to use the air-conditioner during the extremely hot weather was bliss. The staff were friendly and helpful, and when we decided to stay another night (to dodge the heat), the front desk staff helped arrange this and added a late checkout to our booking. "I stayed one night with my husband and son. The family room is set up well. My son enjoyed having space to himself in the loft. We arrived at the end of a heat wave, and while the room was stuffy initially, we slept quite comfortably, as the ceiling fan and window cross-breezes worked well to cool the room. The shower was tricky to figure out with regard to temperature control, so be sure to check the hosts for guidance. Tiggy and Pete are welcoming and very entertaining. They kept us in...

"Spacious rooms with relatively new upgrades to be sure — so no complaints in room experience. Staff are absolutely wonderful, too. Please note that the property is a dated 1990s layout and architecture and styling. It’s all in serviceable, acceptable condition — just a few decades dated."

"The hotel perhaps needs a little TLC. The bed was fine, the shower worked. But....there was 1 bath towel between two people. The shower curtain was stained, and inner curtain is needed. The window blind was broken. We would not stay here again, and felt the room was overpriced for the condition. The booking form needs to be clearer with regards to dogs."

"A lovely hotel, restaurant and bar. Beautifully decorated and furnished with a great selection of artwork. Drinks before dinner in the spacious garden then the most delicious, beautifully presented food in the restaurant. Our room was spacious, well furnished and equipped - the air conditioning was very welcome! - with an equally spacious bathroom, lovely toiletries too. Delicious breakfast to end our stay - we have recommended The Chalk Hare to many friends, thoroughly enjoyed our stay last...
