The apartment offers captivating, panoramic views over the Miragaia neighbourhood, the Virtudes Gardens and up towards Passeio das Virtudes. From every room, and from the balcony, you can look across the terracotta rooftops, the River Douro and Vila Nova de Gaia, under an ever-changing open sky.
The light, the movement of the river and the quiet presence of Porto’s birds create a landscape that shifts throughout the day and night.

- Natural Light & Atmosphere

With excellent natural light from morning until evening and plenty of cross-ventilation, the apartment feels airy and calm beneath its high-pitched ceilings.
The balcony extends into the open view, offering a peaceful spot to read, enjoy a drink or simply observe the life of Miragaia unfolding below.

- The Apartment

The accommodation is best suited to a couple, with spaces that flow together harmoniously.

Bedroom:

A serene, bright bedroom with a 150 x 200 cm bed and details that echo the restored character of the building.

Living & Dining Room:

A welcoming living and dining area with comfortable seating and wide windows framing hillside views. Kindly note there's no TV in the unit.

Kitchen:

A well-equipped kitchen with Balay appliances (hob, oven, sink and refrigerator), an electric kettle, toaster and a traditional Italian moka coffee maker. Basic utensils and cookware are provided.

Bathroom:

A naturally ventilated bathroom with modern fittings and a washing machine.

Mezzanine Office / Studio:

Above the living room, a mezzanine floor provides a useful office or studio space with wonderful views.

- Location & Surroundings

The apartment is part of a fully restored historic building. Ancient stone walls were preserved and integrated into a new rooftop structure that blends contemporary design with heritage.
Rua do Monte dos Judeus is within the UNESCO Historic City Area, a quiet, pedestrian-only corner of Miragaia, within walking distance of central Porto along the river.
Buses to the beaches of Foz do Douro are also nearby.

- Accessibility

As is typical of Porto’s hillside neighbourhoods, Rua do Monte dos Judeus follows a steep incline. This provides the remarkable views but may pose challenges for some guests.

The street is pedestrian-only; taxis can reach the top of the street but not the building entrance.

Exterior steps lead down to the building door.

Inside the building, two straight flights of stairs lead from the entrance level to the apartment door.

The apartment is on the top floor of a five-storey building, though the entrance level corresponds to the third floor due to the slope.

Guests with reduced mobility or heavy luggage should take this into consideration.

- The neighbourhood is pedestrian-only; most taxis will drive to the top of the street, but will not enter Rua do Monte dos Judeus, so luggage planning is recommended.
- The pedestrian setting adds charm and tranquillity, but may present challenges for guests with reduced mobility or heavy bags.

Monte dos Judeus is one of Porto’s hidden gems - a peaceful, residential hillside tucked between Miragaia and Palácio de Cristal. Far from the tourist crowds but still close to the city's most charming spots, it offers postcard views over the Douro River, quiet cobbled streets, and a truly local feel.

The neighborhood blends authenticity with calm: here, you’ll hear birdsong in the morning, see neighbours chatting at their doors, and watch the sunset from secret viewpoints just around the corner. It’s ideal for slow living, morning walks, and those who appreciate the quieter side of Porto without losing touch with the city.

From Monte dos Judeus, you can easily walk down to the riverside promenade, explore Alfândega’s cultural center, or head uphill to the gardens and galleries of Palácio de Cristal. Public transport options are nearby, but many of Porto’s best experiences are just a scenic walk away.

The Monte dos Judeus area, while more residential and peaceful, is still relatively well served by public transport, especially if you're happy to walk a little.

On foot:
Tram Line 1 (Infante stop): About 8–10 minutes away on foot, this scenic tram runs along the Douro River all the way to Jardim do Passeio Alegre - an iconic route loved by both locals and visitors.

Buses:
There are several bus stops nearby, especially along Rua da Restauração and near Alfândega, offering easy access to the city centre, Boavista, and São Bento station.

São Bento Station (train and metro):
Roughly 20 minutes on foot, it connects directly to the airport via metro, and to other cities through regional and urban rail lines.

Extra tip:
Although the area is hilly, newly installed mechanised walkways (escalators) make the climb much easier, especially between the riverside and higher-up neighborhoods like Monte dos Judeus.

All in all, while there’s no metro station right at the door, this location still gets you wherever you need to go, on foot, by tram, or by bus, with the added bonus of some of Porto’s most beautiful walks along the way.

- Self-Catered Property: We provide complimentary starter items for your arrival (e.g., first-day toiletries, toilet paper). These are offered as a welcome gesture and are not replenished during your stay.

- Check-in & Check-out: Check-in starts at 17:00 and check-out must be done until 11:00(am). Before leaving, please place the keys inside the lockbox. Only one set of keys will be provided.

- Linen & Towels: Bed and bath linens are provided for the number of guests confirmed on the reservation. For stays longer than 7 nights, a complimentary change of linens will be provided at check-in.

- Cleaning Services: The cleaning fee covers the final check-out cleaning. Additional cleaning during your stay can be arranged for an extra fee with at least 24 hours' notice.

- Long Stays (28+ days): For monthly stays, utility bills (water, electricity, gas) exceeding a total of €150 per month will be charged to the guest. By booking, you agree to these terms.

- Guest Information: We are required by Portuguese law (SEF) to collect passport/ID information from all non-Portuguese guests upon check-in.

- Families: A baby crib and high chair are available upon request for an additional fee. Please contact us in advance to arrange this.
