The Space:
This modern, bright, garden-level retreat features a spacious open-concept living, dining, and kitchen area designed for relaxing, working, entertaining, and exploring Portland with ease.
When you arrive, you’re welcomed by a large private patio with built-in benches, a dining table, and comfortable lounge seating — perfect for morning coffee or evening wine. Inside, the open layout creates an inviting gathering space for family and friends.

The three bedrooms comfortably sleep six guests. For additional flexibility, the living room sofa or a floor blow up mattress can accommodate extra sleepers. Rest easy on brand-new Serta Perfect Sleeper mattresses and high end Cozy brand sheets.

Clean, convenient location, street parking was always close, didn't have a problem finding close by. Considering we arrived almost 6am we were able to store our luggage at the property which was very helpful. Variety of food within walking distance. Host was also very responsive.

Everything was great! The host was super responsive when we couldn't figure out the heat system and came right over. The home is in a great area with lots of cute shops and food and an easy Uber ride to downtown. The home is decorated very cute and very clean. Overall a great stay! Thank you.

The house is lovely and in a fantastic location. The listing is the bottom unit of a 2-story building, but was still relatively sunny and cozy. A few things to note - the listing mentions street parking and on-premises parking. There is no on prem parking- just street parking around the area. This can be misleading for those concerned about leaving their cars unattended in busy areas. I previously had my car broken into in Portland so I was hoping to use the dedicated space in the listing. Fortunately the area is quite safe, but I would suggest updating the listing to only include the street parking. The coffee grinder was not working, so that will need to be replaced. The space is cozy and beds super comfortable. The hosts were gracious but not always quick to respond to our messages within the same day. All in all, I would recommend this space! Next time we will try to book the upstairs unit. Thank you, shift team!

Lovely stay!

A delightful house in a wonderful neighborhood! Walking distance to delicious restaurants and food trucks, a darling children’s bookstore and a coop grocery! Cute house and perfect for cooking and hanging out with both our college kids, elderly parents and dog! Enjoyed bbq on the terrace and people watching while drinking wine from a wonderful day trip to the Willamette Valley! Hope to return!

Inspiring Stay

We loved everything about this place! The location is perfect for exploring the Alberta district on foot with loads of good restaurants and shops nearby. The rental itself was perfect for our plans, with an accommodating common area, comfortable beds, and cool aesthetics. Seriously, we took so many pictures to inspire projects for our respective homes. Our only regret was that we didn't utilize the outside area to its fullest. The hosts are kind and helpful, communicating with us promptly, and include discounts at local shops and eateries.

Eclectic neighborhood, small businesses galore

The property is clean, tidy, and provides the features listed. The open kitchen/dining/living room design allows for space for families to pursue multiple activities while spending time together. Linking to Netflix on the TV and accessing the Internet were easy and quick. The reason to rent here is to enjoy the food and shopping venues within walking distance nearby. We enjoyed the food co-op nearly across the street and were thrilled to discover Chilango a short walk away--such amazing Mexican food and welcoming service! Also close by was Roseline Coffee, where the baristas were friendly and the beverages tasty. The novelty gift shop, Frock Boutique, was worth the stop for gifts for friends and family...and it's right next door.If you're looking for a weekend getaway where you can relax, enjoy tasty foods and an eclectic neighborhood full of local small businesses, this is a good choice.

Great stay on Alberta

This property was great for us over the Thanksgiving holiday. A short walk to super coffee and food and ice cream (Salt and Straw) and the Alberta Co-op for last minute grocery shopping. Parking was easy on Alberta or one of the side streets. The house was cozy with heated floors and a split in the main area. And I appreciated Michelle's responsiveness to any questions. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. Already missing the PDX!

Relaxing! Home away from home.

Owners are incredible. Great location, clean, quiet, great outdoor area for relaxing. We rented both property’s for wedding and everything turned out perfectly. We would rent again. Michelle and Klaas are great host who care about your experience. Thank you for the great stay.

Great overnight stay for us and friends

We had a great time in the home. This is the second time we have stayed in one of the host’s properties. Great location with great nearby restaurants and things to do in the Alberta arts district. The only complaint I have is that the coffee maker had old, moldy coffee in it which was a bit off-putting in the morning when making our coffee. The home was otherwise very clean and a great place to spend time for the night. We also enjoyed the free popcorn provided :)
