Summary:
Discover a serene retreat in Portage! This beautiful house boasts stunning beachside lake views. Perfect for families, it offers swimming, fishing, and outdoor fun. Enjoy easy access to Kalamazoo, I-94, and the convenience of being between Detroit and Chicago. Relax and create lasting memories in this lakeside paradise.

The Space:
50' Lake frontage accessed just across road. We own 2 other homes next door and each home has a 50' Lake Access and Beach. With 4 bedrooms, 7 beds and a futon, there's plenty of room for relaxing. Each bedroom has its own theme and all beds have quality memory foam mattresses. The upstairs bathroom is the larger of the 2 full bathrooms and offers a full shower /tub setup with a separate water closet to allow for others to get ready to go out or prepare for bed. The main floor is a true open concept that allows not only the fresh air to easily flow through the home but allows your group this same luxury. We've added a large 35' long deck off the back of the home that stretches the entire length of the home. From the deck you'll be able to enjoy your group relaxing by the firepit or grab a chair and watch the large variety of birds, frogs, turtles, ducks, deer and more. We upgraded the game room on this home to offer a larger space to enjoy during early mornings or evenings when you're not swimming/fishing. Driving an electric vehicle..? We have a level 2, 50 amp car charging station on the driveway side of the home for convenient charging. This home has 10 parking spots.

We've tried to solve all of the challenges plaguing lake cottages...

1) They're typically really small in size. Our home is over 1700 sq ft and designed for groups to enjoy both indoor and outdoor living.
2) Parking - We offer comfortable parking for up to 10 vehicles.
3) Cold/Hot spots when heating and cooling - We built our home with 2x6 exterior walls, r-60 attic insulation, low e windows and a well designed, high efficiency hvac system to ensure when you want it warm in the winter or cool in the summer, that's exactly what you get.
4) Water Systems - We installed a brand new well water system as well as an on demand hot water system. That means unlimited hot water for showers!

When renting our lake house you may see other families and have the opportunity for kids to play with others while on your trip.

Guests will receive detailed check-in instructions 3 days before check-in.

Lake front community just south of the City of Kalamazoo in Portage, MI.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have. We're only a text, call or email away. You will have complete privacy but we're just down the street if an emergency arises.

This property is lovely. Extremely clean, well decorated, spacious, and right across from the water. There are water views from several rooms and the deck in the back of the home is expansive.I appreciated the first floor bedroom as I was traveling with a friend with limited mobility. Aside from that bedroom, the upstairs bedrooms were comfortable and the loft area is equipped for gaming and fun. The hosts have been very thoughtful about ensuring that this property has all the comforts of home. Plenty of toiletries, plates, pans, etc…and all of the conveniences like a coffeemaker with various creams and sugars. The host was extremely responsive and helpful. And if you are a frequent vacation rental guest, you will also appreciate their very basic and easy checkout list! No endless list of things to remember to do on your way out. Just the basics. This was really helpful. Our party of five enjoyed our stay and will definitely return if we are in the area again. Thank you Jeremy and Katie!

My family and I stayed for a week's vacation. We had the most amazing stay!! Jeremy and Katie have thought of it all when it comes to this house. Excellent House - Thank you!!!

Excellent accommodations and well stocked with towels and all the regular accommodations needed to make an extended stay pleasant and welcoming. Perfect sized house for 4 adults and 3 kids ages 14, 12 and 7. Plenty of space, super clean and very relaxing. We were here for 5 nights and enjoyed the comfort and location as it made our daily trips into Kalamazoo very easy. The kids enjoyed the video games, adults enjoyed the space and grilling out on the deck area. Even though it was April, it was nice to be able to walk over to the lake/beach area to sit and relax. Highly recommended if you’re staying in the area for any extended time. Thanks!!

Loved it!

My family and I enjoyed our stay. House was perfect. Very clean and had everything you needed and more. The only thing I did not like was the road you crossed to get to the lake/beach. Was much busier than I expected and scared me with little kids. I putting up signs for drivers to see so they know children are crossing :) Other than that we would definitely come back!

Recent Stay

This was one of the best rental properties we have utilized, and we have done many across the globe. Their attention to detail was top notch; they thought of so many details including beach towels, toys for the kids, step stools, kid dishes, etc. Furthermore, when we asked questions to the owner they responded quickly. The house was decorated so nicely it felt like our house and not a rental property - it was very welcoming! Our family very much enjoyed our stay and this owner/property raised the bar on our expectations. We look forward to coming back in the near future!

A great family space

The property was VERY clean and it had everything we needed for ages 16 to 90! The view of the lake is amazing and the deck with heaters is so welcoming, even in very cold temperatures (January). We would definitely gather again as a family at this property and we appreciate the hosts sharing their lovely home with our family.

We had a great time at Jayda’s place! It was just as described. Plenty of sleeping space, lots to do for all ages. We were very impressed with the attention to details- from toiletries, to snacks and coffee, and the tech throughout with the lighting and decor. Very prompt responses to any questions too. Great stay!
