Portage Heights lodge, Above Portage Resort, Highest point in Portage 127 meters with 320 degree views, full road access,
Also now available for our guests to enjoy, is a heated spa and lap pool complex , just meters away from the self contained unit.
Self contained unit guests have exclusive use of the pool/spa.
Modern self contained unit connected to the main dwelling, with its own external access and outdoor settings.
The unit has a King size bed and a pull out double sofa bed, extra accommodation for two children. Extra cost NZ$30.00 per child.

The self contained unit is part of a modern 7000 square foot lodge type home. This is best accommodation you could find in the area.
Portage Heights is situated on the hill overlooking Portage Bay. It is an easy 5 min walk from the house to the waterfront.

The Kenepuru Road will fully open to public for driving from the 19th December, the beginning of Christmas Holiday season this year.
Please keep to the new speed limits and enjoy the drive.

We can offer free pick up and drop off from water Taxi that leaves from Picton to Torea in the Queen Charlotte Sound.

The Portage Resort is a 10 to 15 min walk and picturesque Queen Charlotte walking track at Torea saddle is a 20 to 25 min walk, this location is the ideal base for your Marlborough Sounds get away.

Absolutely stunning views!Beautfiul accommodation.Quiet & scenic, would book again!Only thing to improve is Bookabach/Owner to better clarify how to enter the room - found it a process to login and wasn't clear so had to phone owner which could have been avoided, owner was quick to answer the phone and helpful however!

Amazing stay away

Great location

Situated overlooking Portage and 270deg views. Had a perfectly relaxing weekend with kayaking and walking and plenty of spa time. You don't have the house to yourself which we didn't realise when we booked it. However, you don't see the owners and your little self contained room is accessible without disturbing them.

Stunning and isolated location

Amazing location with stunning views! The view from the attached unit we stayed in looks to the head of Keneperu sound (not the view in the header photo but still beautiful!) Portage is very quiet, literally just the hotel / houses there and the road is quite damaged/one lane in a lot of places so slow going. We went fishing from the jetty on the other side of the bay with great success. Had a few interactions with the owner, nice guy. Overall had a great time!

Stunning views from the lockoff unit !!

Because of the long commute on a road that was marginal at best, we needed to truncate our stay by two days. There are several narrow, one lane sections on the road to the home, and we had two close calls with local drivers driving WAY too fast on the road. The unit has access to a beautiful indoor spa and pool. There is no internet provided during your stay -- a big negative for us as well. The host Ralph was very helpful and provided interesting history of the building of the home! Bottom line: The commute to the home takes much longer than the map would indicate, along a marginal road! That fact should have been listed in the unit description . . .

Epic views of a magnificent part of the world...

What a privilege to be able to stay in a magical part of the world with amazing 360 degree views, which in my opinion would be hard to beat anywhere on the planet. Our hosts were generous with their facilities, including exclusive access to the spa, and great BBQ facilities. A great and relaxing stay.

Absolutely Perfect

The photos dont do it justice, perfect place to spend part of our honeymoon. Beautiful views, beautiful walks and bays near by. The pool and spa just topped it off to make it the perfect place to stay. The hosts are lovely and the self contained kitchen had everything we needed. Would recommend to others and would stay again.

Relaxing, recharging holiday spot

The apartment was beautifully appointed and had everything we needed. The views were amazing!! And after a couple of days of fishing the spa was a great added bonus. Really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back!!
