Enjoy a peaceful vacation to Florida's Forgotten Coast and the charming area of Cape San Blas with your friends, family and furry friends in our well-appointed bright and cozy home Dune Dancer, with private neighborhood pool and access to our beautiful uncrowded white sand beaches via a wooden boardwalk. This area is 'old Florida' with pines, palmettoes and palm trees surrounding the home and the famous Panhandle sand dunes and the Gulf just a short walk away. Did you know that Cape San Blas regularly gets rated in the TOP 10 BEACHES in the US?

Upon arrival, Dune Dancer offers covered parking for 2 vehicles. On the ground level you will find a laundry room that includes beach chairs, umbrellas and a tent for your enjoyment. Entrance to the home is by way of rear stairs leading to a cozy screened porch, one of three outdoor spaces to enjoy. The recently redecorated beach house features high vaulted ceilings. Most rooms are on the main floor with an open common area featuring a brand new smart tv, a couch that converts to a queen sleeper and additional seating. The primary bedroom is situated at the back of the home with a queen bed, private en suite bath and connected porch perfect for enjoying the natural landscaping and sound of the crashing waves. The secondary bedroom also offers plenty of space and comfort with a queen bed. Both bedrooms have TVs with streaming movie, tv and music capabilities. The well appointed kitchen features standard appliances and a breakfast bar with seating for 5, the dining room table seats 6 with access to the shared covered porch. The upstairs loft offers a day bed with a pop up trundle that converts into a queen bed, providing additional sleeping space. One final outdoor area is the open deck running the length of the home with a seating area and two eating areas with seating for 12.

Local amenities include multiple well stocked general stores, bait shops, and to-go sandwich deli's. Pop in to one of the local fish markets and choose your favorites to create a wonderful seafood dinner to enjoy at home, perhaps world famous local oysters? A short 15 minute drive will bring you to Port St Joe with it's charming downtown area featuring boutique shopping, coffee shops, fantastic restaurants, sports and wine bars and more. Local options for exploration and activity include kayaking, fishing, horseback riding on the beach, and you can even enjoy an evening beach bonfire. Salinas Park is a short drive from our home offering a playground and boardwalk to explore the "other side' of the Cape - the St. Joseph Bay.

We enjoyed the areas of the Cape, Port St Joe and Mexico Beach ... the beaches were nice, area low key (no traffic), relaxing and several great restaurant options near-by (great seafood options)! However, we were disappointed overall in the property. It was a short, easy walk to the beach which was nice. We found the property to be in need of a good cleaning -- carpet and rug was dirty, floors seemed "sandy" as soon as we arrived, some bath towels had stains and when we stripped the master bed we discovered the mattress cover was stained. The sitting area furniture was not comfortable and dated. There were several decking boards on the main stairs leading to the house in need of repairs -- two boards were split and boards with rusty nails protruding which created a walking hazard. I contacted the owner directly regarding the decking wood and he acknowledged my text right away.

Just ok

This house is fully stocked in a prime location with easy access to the beach and pool. The house was clean but quite old and outdated. The living room couch needs to be replaced. Not only was it uncomfortable, the cover on it was old and the cleanliness of it was questionable. There is not a comfortable place to sit in the living room. The bathroom towels/rugs also need to be replaced as they’re worn and stained. The beds are comfortable and the loft is a nice additional space for extra guests/kids. All in all, the house is adequate but needs updating and more (modern)attention to detail.

Review of Dune Dancer Cape San Blas

Overall my wife and I along with our two dogs had an enjoyable stay at this property, but a few items could have been inproved which would have made our stay almost perfect. The living room furniture in the property was very sub-par. The sleeper sofa was very uncomfortable to sit on and sagged in the middle. We looked under the cushions and there were wooden slats placed there. The wicker chair had a leg that had been broken previously. The cleaning crew used a cleaner in both of the showers that was extremely slick to the point that I fell in the small shower. The bed was comfortable and the rest of the home was o.k. The location was excellent. Just a short walk to a beautiful, uncrowded beach. The pool was inviting and just a few houses down the road. We did find some ticks on our dogs so beware.

Great beach hideaway

Our small (4 person) family stayed over spring break and really enjoyed the home. Shared pool was cleaner / nicer than expected and the short walk to the beach was perfect. Home worked out great for our family + dog. If you want a quiet retreat near Port St Joe, this is a great option.

Great trip!

This is our second stay in this community and first at this rental house and we can’t wait to go back. It is a well stocked house as far as kitchen essentials and the puzzles and games were an added bonus. The communication with the owner was great-highly recommend this property. It is a short walk to the beach and pool and we also love the proximity to the bike path and bike rental shop.

A wonderful week despite the weather

We had a wonderful time at Dun Dancer! The weather wasn't great all week. It was pretty windy most days down at the beach, so we took advantage of the community pool, which was wonderful. The house was great and the location was perfect. Our dog joined us and it was great that the owners had items just for him (water bowl, clean up towel). We will definitely be back!

Beautiful home is great area

The Home was beautiful and the neighborhood and location was wonderful. My only concern was the couch was very uncomfortable, we both are over 65 and lounging watching TV at night is our thing which was really hard on the couch. When we arrived I found a screw driver, light bulb and broken metal like glass something in the sand near the outdoor shower. Not sure if it was left by a maintenance person. I picked up garbage out of the landscaping and had a screw in my tire that we had to have fixed on the way home that I suspect could have came from the drive way as it appears some work was being done on the property before we arrived.

Lovely home.

Comfortable home in a great location to access the beach. The community pool was an added bonus. Disappointed that there was no phone number to contact the host or management company in the event of an issue. Would definitely recommend and would love to return.

We had the best week. This place has everything you need and the location is perfect. We had a minor issue when arriving and the owner was so quick to respond and solve the issue. Lovely stay on the Cape

We enjoyed our stay and the beautiful beach. The house was perfect for us and we enjoyed the porch each morning before walking down to the beach. The house was stocked with everything we needed. Absolutely perfect

This was the first time we have stayed in a different beach house so we were nervous if the house will be what we needed and wanted and it was better than we ever could have hoped for! It was 4 adults and 2 kids and 1 toddler and 2 dogs. The girls were so excited about sleeping in the loft area which also helped keep them a bit quiet so my toddler could nap. The beds were comfy and a nice size as well as the shower and bath tub were perfect for what we needed! The vacuum cleaner that was provided was extremely dirty and clogged with hair from previous people so we had to clean it to be able to even use it, but other than that the house was great! The walk to the beach wasn't bad at all, maybe 5 mins. Everyone had an absolutely amazing time and we can't wait to go back next year!!

Dune dance stay

Wonderful vacation home in a great neighborhood atmosphere! Short walk to the beach with a neighborhood board walk available. Kitchen was well stocked and nice dining area with lots of light coming in from the porch. Landscape provided for lots of privacy. Would definitely stay again

Amazing!

This was the first time using VRBO and the first time visiting Cape San Blas...both were fantastic! The house was just perfect for our needs. We walked to the beach everyday, pool was wonderful, had all the amenities we needed. We were close enough to walk to two amazing restaurants. Absolutely fell in love with this area. We will be back! Robert was always super responsive and replied to my questions in a matter of minutes. Highly recommend!
