Welcome to the Sunset-Hideway, one of three 4.5 star vacation homes located on a scenic 50-acre, "Stay & Play" oceanside destination with a stunning, secluded sandy beach. The villa's open-concept design, amenities, ocean views and deck makes it ideal for a family or two
couples.

A great base for exploring Cape Breton - Just 30 min from Cabot Cliffs golf course, a scenic 1-hour drive from the Cabot Trail and 5-10 min from the restaurants, live music, beaches and shops in Port Hood and Mabou.

If enjoying Cape Breton’s natural beauty in comfort and style is important, then you have come to the right place.

This luxurious, 3-bedroom vacation home is packed full of modern amenities including, a well-equipped open-concept kitchen (with an island, bar stools and premium stainless-steel appliances), air conditioning, satellite TV, a laundry center and ocean views from every room.
The master bedroom has a King-sized bed, private bathroom, and walk-in closet while the other two bedrooms have Queen-sized beds and access to the main bathroom. All beds have comfortable pillow-top mattresses and linens, and all bedrooms have blinds and screens to help you get a good night sleep.

Outside, you will enjoy captivating ocean views and stunning sunsets while enjoying a glass of wine or a fine meal from the comfort of your oversized sundeck. The deck has a dining table, chairs and propane BBQ. Outside, you'll also find a Level 2 charging outlet for an EV (see details).

During their stay, guests can visit stunning Colindale Beach, located an easy 8-10 minute stroll along our scenic nature trail which winds through a vibrant field of wildflowers, past a shimmering freshwater pond and over emerald green sand dunes. This gem of a beach has warm swimming waters in summer and ideal conditions for cold plunging in the spring and late fall. Unwind in one of our beach chairs, soothed by the sound of crashing waves and the fresh sea breeze. A romantic setting for many wedding proposals, the beach is perfect for leisurely walks, sea glass hunting, meditation, refreshing swims, or photography—especially in the early evening when the western sun illuminates the deep blue sea, waves, and dunes in a magical way. The sunsets here are world class.

Location wise, we are an easy 5-10 minute drive from the shops, restaurants, and 5 sandy swimming beaches in Port Hood, which is well-known for its warm waters, music festivals, great seafood, fishing charters and warm hospitality. Meanwhile, we are about 10 minutes from picturesque Mabou which has restaurants with local fiddle music, groceries and miles of sensational hiking trails (up to and along Cape Mabou which features breathtaking views of Cape Breton's rugged coastline, cliffs and beaches below).


Please note the following before booking

1. HOUSE RULES: Pets, parties, events, smoking, fires (including on the beach), fireworks, drones, ATVs or cooking fish, shellfish or other strong-odor foods indoors are not permitted. Quiet time begins at 10 pm.

2. AGE RESTRICTION: For safety and other reasons, children must be 8 years or older to stay

3. VILLA SHARING -- We are happy to host a family with up to 6 guests or 2 couples, but a villa may not be shared by 3 couples or more than 4 adults without manager approval. Extra guest fees apply for 5th and 6th guest.

4. GUEST SAFETY - Use of the beach and nature trail requires signing of a liability waiver.

5. OCCUPANCY LIMIT - The number of guests cannot exceed the number on your booking.

6. EV CHARGING - The unit has a 240 Volt, 50 amp outlet for EV charging, but guests should bring their own charging cable and adapter (NEMA 14-50 / RV plug). See photo in gallery. Charging fees apply.

8. COOKING FISH, SHELLFISH OR FOOD WITH STRONG ODOURS - Guests agree to cook fish, shellfish and food with strong odours outside and on the BBQ provided. Cooking fish inside will result in forfeiture of damage deposit.

We were two couples touring cape breton; the Collingwood villa was a great place to regroup and rest for 2 days ; place had amazing pristine beach and beautiful sunsets; great spot to visit the local attractions in Mabou and Port Hood . Definitely a must stay if your in the area ; and a bonus wss thw 10 /lbs lobster down tje road

We had a nice stay. The house was very nice with a beautiful view of the water. The house is very private with a nice back yard with large deck. The only minor negative would be the gravel road you have to drive on. It is groomed so not hard to traverse at all. We would differently stay here again.

The villa was even better than advertised. It was clean, well appointed and a perfect location for all that we wanted to do during our first trip to Cape Breton. The short picturesque walk to the beach was lovely and the private beach area was incredible. The water was warm, lots for the kids to explore and play with and the privacy was unmatched.

We had an amazing vacation in Cape Breton Island. The Villa was clean and beautiful. It was very spacious. The kitchen was extremely well equipped. There are windows all along the side facing the ocean with beautiful views. There was a large deck facing the ocean where we enjoyed our coffee in the morning and relaxed in the evening. There was a nice nature walk/ path with so many pretty wild flowers along the way. This path led to the beach where we were able to enjoy beautiful sunsets. We visited Cheticamp and Cape Breton Highlands National Park and went hiking on some of the trails. We also visited Baddeck and the Alexander Graham Bell Museum . We enjoyed all of the restaurants, and everyone was very friendly and professional. I wish we could have stayed longer and we certainly would love to go back and stay in Port Hood at the same villa. Thank you Michael and Marina for sharing your beautiful home with us!!

What a special property. The house was extremely clean, comfortable, and well equipped. We all slept well and had plenty of space. It was great to be able to do laundry, grill, and cook. Everything we needed was provided.

In a perfect world all vacation homes would be modeled on this property: great location, quiet, spotless, bright, comfortable, filled with home amenities and thoughtful touches that made our stay that much better. Michael is the consummate host and a wealth of information for those who are first time visitors to Cape Breton. I would not hesitate to recommend booking this home.

Everything about our stay was incredible. The home worked perfect for our family and inlaws. No one wanted to leave after our 5 night stay. The home was beautifully decorated and we head everything we needed and more. Mike was a great host and very accommodating which we greatly appreciated traveling across the country and visiting Cape Breton for the first time. We will be back and look forward to staying in this home again.

If I could give ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I would. Our host Michael went above and beyond to ensure our stay was worry free. The Villa exceeded our expectations. It was obvious a lot of thought went into the design. Our hosts thought of everything with all the little details taken care of. We have already rebooked for the summer!

Absolutely everything was beyond our expectations! The property, building, facilities, cleanliness, trails, and beach were all excellent, and the view was priceless. Although we did not meet our host Michael, he responded very quickly and his communication skills were first rate. Sounds too good to be true? Try it. You will love this place! The place was brand new and totally immaculate. We stayed during a hurricane and the owners were very kind and helpful should anything occurred. Thankfully things storm-wise were tame. I'd stay again in a heartbeat! What can I say the owners were great and the place was amazing and very quiet. Needless to say we all slept very well. Thank you a million times, hope to be back again.

The only item that was not great was the walk to beach.....as everyone was 70 +....the walk was steeper than I anticipated and no where to sit and enjoy the beach. This property and accommodation was top notch....great kitchen for food....wide, big table for eating and card playing, beds all very good, bathrooms very clean and well appointed. Choice of artwork in each bedroom and living room was so very suitable. Easy access to nearby beaches & local towns. View was spectacular... Would highly recommend this rental.

The property was exactly as described/photographed. It is a good size space for a group of people, beds and couch are very comfortable. The walk down to the private beach was lovely and the sunsets were spectacular. The host was very responsive to questions and accommodating. Would definitely recommend for a peaceful weekend away.

Beautiful views, excellent property. Fairly new, very bright and airy with great amenities. One of the best laid out and equipped property’s that we have seen. Very friendly and helpful owners, great welcome booklet talking about house rules, restaurants, and nearby shopping. This 3 bedroom property is great for adult couples travelling together, or a family with older children. Location is a little remote but the quiet and the views more than make up for it. Would stay again.
