Relax in style at this beautiful Gilchrist home featuring three balconies, a wraparound deck, and stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico! Start each morning in the fresh air with a cup of coffee watching the tide ebb and flow. When everyone begins to wake up, head into the full kitchen boasting stainless steel appliances and ample counter space for all of your culinary needs. When everyone is fueled up for the day, head out to the beach just steps from your back door and make a day of beachcombing and lounging on the sand!

When you enter the home, you will immediately be greeted by the living area and kitchen. Make your way upstairs and you will find a bedroom to the left with a king bed and an en suite bathroom. Head right and you will find the second bedroom with bunk beds. The third bedroom is to the left and offers a queen bed. The second suite offers the best view in the house at the end of the hall with a king bed and an en suite bathroom.

Secluded on the Bolivar Peninsula, in the small town of Gilchrist, you will be a few steps away from the beach! Discover everything this area has to offer, from local restaurants and shops to the Smith Oaks Sanctuary for some birdwatching! You will also be only 10 minutes from Crystal Beach. Fun Spot Water Slide is just a short drive away offering amusement for the whole family. If you don't feel like cooking, Stingaree Restaurant & Marina is a local favorite for seafood and home-style cooking!

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Spacious On the beach

Pleasant stay a lot of stairs but fantastic view location and space. Tall chairs on deck were awesome. Everyday watch dolphins right off shore.

Not happy this time

When we first got there we noticed there was still alit of sand on the floor like they forgot to sweep, so we had to clean it up. Then went upstairs to the master bedroom and looked at the bed sheet, pretty sure they weren't cleaned because there was a long black hair stuck to the sheet also a beer bottle cap laying on the floor and the bathroom floor was sticky. We had 12 people staying and brought food to cook every night while we were there. The stove stopped working on Thursday and we called about it. They sent someone out on Friday to come check it out, they said they need a new stove. So then they told me they could bring me a conventional oven to help. I told them I could not cook for my family on this. Then they said they would credit me $25 dollars a day for every day it did not work. I told them I didn't think it was a fair credit, considering I brought all this food and could not cook it and then had to order out for 12 people. I do understand things break, I get it, but come on. They did credit me for 390. I really love this place and I will rent again as long as they replace that stove and get someone to clean the place alot better. We stayed here for 9 days total, May stay longer next time as long as they fix things. 😊 thanks

Jordan's sand Castle

Fantastic house, we enjoyed our stay. The house had Fantastic ocean views from almost every room in the house. This house was spacious and airy, very comfortable with easy access to the beach. Management could have done a bit better with cleaning the house or at least leave cleaning supplies and tools for guests to clean incase of spills etc. The oven did not work effectively, may need to be serviced and we couldn't locate a key to the lift so we had to carry everything up the stairs... The house also has enough room for more beds... Overall, this house was Great, would defn stay here again!

Check in was pretty easy. Couple phone calls to get the key lock combo. Kitchen fridge was big enough. Showers were nice but we lost hot water our last night there. Didn’t have a broom or vacuum available to sweep up the sand on the floor. Views were great from the deck plus some loose nails. It was a good get away but I would not choose this rental again.

Not cleaned after repairs and painting

The house is amazing and great but the first floor was full of dust after repairing and painting, even a fan to dry the paint was on. After several phone calls, someone came to clean the mess. After those horribles hours, we enjoyed our stay but we never had the discount promised, even after contacting again the client support.

Christmas getaway 2020

Grime on Stilts

Basically, the home was not clean, smelled of cigarette smoke, had not been swept, dusted, or wiped down. Drink ring remnants were still on the glass coffee table and a greasy film covered the counters, kitchen table, and fixtures. Then there were no cleaning products available to do the job correctly. Most of the sliding doors did not have screens - one of them that did was torn. The kitchen cabinet door pulls are all loose - the screws to install them are too long. One could not lock a door on the upper floor without going outside to push on the top and bottom to get them to latch - and then jump from one deck to the other deck to get back inside. The sink of the adjoining bathroom is clogged. It has taken a lot of cleaning to get the cigarette smoke out of our pillows and clothes that had to be dry cleaned. There are maintenance and cleanliness issues with this property.

Beachfront Fun

The house and location are wonderful! The house is so spacious and accommodated our family very well. The deck areas are large and I love that there is a gate for the main one so little ones are safe. There are a few things need attention. The kitchen could use more pots and pans with lids and more kitchen towels. The master bed is really comfortable, but other family members mentioned the other mattresses are not as comfortable and sagging in the middle. But overall, we REALLY enjoyed our family trip.

Roomy house with a great view

The house was very roomy and spacious. There were a few issues but overall we would rent this house again. All the bedrooms were comfy and we loved the 2 additional balconies coming off of the upstairs bedrooms. The shower in the Master bedroom is huge and the grandkids loved taking showers in there :) The AC worked great which is a definite plus when it is hot and humid outside. We go to Crystal Beach area every summer and we would book this house again.

Pandemic Escape!

The house is exactly as portrayed with one exception - one of the master bedrooms has a queen bed, one a king. The listing said 2 kings but that was not an issue for us. It is really close to the water and the second master pretty much overlooks the water. It's a beautiful view. Just steps from the beach. The house was very clean when we arrived. We initially had a little difficulty locating the key box, so a better explanation when sending the code would be helpful. We had some trouble locking the main door once unlocked. It wasn't a huge issue - we just used another exit to the deck at times. When we arrived, we saw a lift and were excited because there's a lot of steps when unpacking your gear from the car to the door. But, the lift wasn't working. To be fair, the lift WAS NOT advertised on the site, so we just thought it was a bonus if it worked! We did call the management firm and they indicated it was broken and to not use it. Hope they get it repaired as it will really help with the unpacking/packing events. Great place.

Beach Bums

This beach house was excellent. The large windows through out the house made for amazing views of the ocean. We spent most of our time on the beach that was just steps away from the home. Our evenings were spent lounging on the massive decks. Great little vacation!!!

Great remote location, inaccurate description of home.

We enjoyed the stay at the home and had a great time. However, there were a few things that were inaccurate on the listing and therefore we would not return. 1. The home smells strongly of smoke. It is in the bedding, the curtains, the couches. It isn’t a smell you can open a window and eliminate (even with the strong ocean breeze). We bought air fresheners to try to help, though it wasn’t effective. When we came home our car and everything that was inside the home smelled of smoke, even after washing. 2. There is only one king size bed, not 2. The accurate bed count was: king, queen, double, queen and bunk bed. 3. The dishwasher didn’t work upon arrival. A note said “dishwasher not working. Sorry for inconvenience.” That isn’t helpful when they only provide a sponge and 2 hand towels for a weeklong stay with no where to dry dishes. The dishwasher reeked. 4. The hot water didn’t work in the master suite. The handle only went to warm. 5. Lightbulb was out in main floor bathroom. 6. No mixing bowls. 7. Vacasa was very slow at response time. I asked questions weeks in advance about the home (specifics of the kitchen since we planned to cook every meal) and received an answer while we packed to go home after being there 5 days. Other FYI info: all bedrooms are upstairs. The washing machine and dryer are great. There are plenty of towels. Seashell hunting was so fun on the beach! The setup of the home is great and has so much potential. If the home hadn’t smelled of smoke we would likely rebook, but with so many options in the area we will probably book elsewhere next time.

So worth it, location, location, location!

The only issue we had was the house was not ready at the check in time and we had to wait 2 hours before we could get in which caused some of our food we brought to spoil, and lost our first evening of daylight to spend on the beach. The house is lovely and the location perfect.

No hand rails going up or down stairs. Having 50, 60, and 70s gong up or down with no way to hold on is rough. Some bulbs were out. Blinds need attention. Other than that I would recommend to family and friends. And would revisit in the future.

Loved Jordan’s Sandcastle

We were very comfortable with 7 adults and 3 children. Loved the house and the many beautiful views we had with all the windows and sliding doors and balconies. It had everything we needed and definitely will book again!

Warning before Renting

The house has a great layout. Hints the reason I rented. Cons- We had to clean the house. Hardly anything in the kitchen to cook with. Everything was in zero order. Lights out everywhere. Microwave is about to fall down. Zero water hoses or places to clean off. Doors upstairs do not lock. Wood piled up behind the couches. One room we did not use beause of the amount of dog hair and pieces of dog food found. No pets allowed? Towels were hard to come by. You can not turn off the lights down below. Good thing I came preparred with alk these items including my own waterhose. Fix these items and may consider coming back. Fire your cleaning crew. Chip bags under the bed? I did not reach out to management to address during my stay because i was preppared for the worst. Looking at past reviews some of the same items still have not been addressed. Oh yea i had to buy a broom to sweep floor. When we ran the vacuum it was so full of hair I had to clean it out. I will be requesting the cleaning fee back. Good luck.

Nice but Take Note

We enjoyed our stay overall. The price was extremely reasonable, but I doubt we'd rent here again. Below is a breakdown of what we liked and disliked: Likes: Quiet location - this isn't in a neighborhood so no neighborhood traffic or loud engines. You can literally walk to the water. Lots of room - we could easily get away from each other (there were only six of us total, but I think even with 12 we'd have been fine). I loved the main deck the most. Beautiful views - the photos are accurate. The photo of the beach is a bit deceiving though. The beach front isnt as wide until late afternoon when the tide goes way out, and there are a lot of rocks and shells, but that didn't bother us. Extremely reasonable price - it fit the budget and what we needed so that's a win. Dislikes: This properly is managed through Vacasa so you have to call them with issues (but their customer service rep was extremely nice when I called). There were no check out rules at the house, nor did I receive any. I called Vacasa, and basically they weren't sure either. They just told me to clean the dishes and take out the trash. By nightfall we realized the lock on the house didn't actually work. I didn't want to call Vacasa again. I also noticed a previous renter left a review about the lock as well so that's concerning. For the expensive what I'll call COVID cleaning fee everyone is paying the house could be cleaned better. Not all trash bins had trash bags, and we couldn't find more for the bathroom cans There was a glob of food or something on the wall behind the stove. Under the toilet seat in the master bathroom had not been cleaned well. There were bits of debris on the stairs. This house sleeps hot in the master bedroom and room with the queen bed. Even with our portable fans we all woke up sweating in the night. The air can't be bumped down below 72 and kicks back up during the night on its own. I was constantly turning it back to 72 because heat rises. The mosquitos were awful! On night two we went down to light fireworks and had to literally run back up to put on Off. Even then they still swarmed but weren't as bad. Maybe it was from all the rain from Hurricane Hanna, but we all left with multiple bites. I honestly think this house would be better managed not having Vacasa as the manager. There's no direct contact to the home owner who knows the home best.

Beautiful Beach House and Location

I would give this place a 5 star rating but there were no trash bags, no dishwashing soap, or laundry detergent available when we got there. Plus the front door lock became inoperable and we couldn't lock it up the whole weekend.
