this was not what I expected. The grounds itself were beautiful but the honeymoon suite was not as expected. My deck where my so-called private pool was all broken down where my husband stubbed his toe and my flip-flop got stuck. It was not what we paid extra for. You don’t really have your own private pool as you could see right next-door to your neighbors and there are rooms on top of you that people can just look down and talk to you. I will say that the staff there are very, very nice and helpful but if you are not bilingual, you will have a very hard time understanding please make sure you have your translator app in the Dominican Republic. One peanut dropped on the floor in my room and I had about 1 million ants which they did take care of. I couldn’t use the Jacuzzi tub as the water was coming out dirty. When you’re thinking you’re getting an ocean front room and their cabana is in front of your room. It’s not really oceanfront. The room service food is cold and not great. Definitely eat at the restaurant. I would not suggest getting any room service twice. We ordered their breakfast and dinner and it was just not worth it. I would never go back here. They should have someone to help tour the ground as we really didn’t know where everything was and since we paid an extra thousand dollars for the room that we got we were hoping for some compensation back, but they were unwilling to do that. i’m very disappointed. Like I said staff was wonderful though.

Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. When we arrived, the bed sheets and pillows were dirty. I contacted and visited the front desk, but no one addressed the issue or offered another room. Traveling with my two children made the situation even worse. Because the bedding was unclean, they were uncomfortable sleeping in the beds and ended up sharing a bed while wearing sweatshirts and sweatpants. The service throughout our stay was poor. We waited over an hour and a half for food at the pool bar after staff took our order and then forgot about it. The beach conditions were not suitable for swimming, the food quality was below expectations, and the overall service did not meet the standards expected of a Family Selection/VIP experience. I ultimately decided to check out early. This is not the 5-star luxury resort experience advertised, and it does not compare to other luxury resorts where I have stayed.

Rooms are humid and have mold growing. If the air conditioning is not on it smells like mildew. Cleaners use the same bucket of bleach to mop the floor in each room. Bed felt moist and pillows smelled bad. I did not enjoy the room at all other than the nice view of the resort and ocean. The rest of the resort is gorgeous and staff are kind. Rui parties are fun and the beach is clean and beautiful. Lots of people trying to scam and sell you things sometimes took away from the experience. If you can say no you will be fine.

The room is good( the elite ) The only problem is if you have to stay an extra night for any emergency or flight cancellation or if you need anything The place is not understandable for Emergency or mistake , my flight was moved for the next day. I had to stay one extra night and the place saw the opportunity to overcharge me for the night. I was very disappointed as I had no choice by paying a lot of money for just one extra night The sad part is I spoke with them three days before and they told me not to worry about and when I check out, I can book an extra room. They did not let me do it before, including me and my family in a place of no choice

We traveled with a group of 10 people and had a great time. I highly recommend the swim out rooms so you also have a place to hang after being by the big pool or beach. The resort was able to accommodate us and get us into the same building, but not all next to each other. Dinner reservations were always ready before we arrived. The food was fine for a resort. The swim-up bar was the main spot we hung out. The beaches are beautiful and they were even clearing out the seaweed in front of the resort. Lots of activities. I would suggest a 4-night minimum to add on an excursion to explore off the resort as well. It is nice that Ambar is adults only, but we had access to all of the others within walking or tram distance. Had a fun time at the casino. It was smaller and didn't get much action until after 10 pm. Surprisingly not super busy and crowded for July.
