Unwind and Uncork with Panoramic Views and Modern Rustic Charm

Welcome to The Golden Elk! Originally built by Lynda Carter (yes, the original Wonder Woman), you will easily unwind and uncork in this fully remodeled and updated cabin. Built into the side of Strawberry Mountain and just 90 minutes from Phoenix, the cabin is 1750 square feet on 2 stories with an additional 1000 square feet on 2 decks. Perfect for families or friends, you will be more than comfortable with the 3 bedroom, 2 baths that sleeps 6. Take in the great panoramic views while playing games, sipping your favorite beverage, and eating that perfect meal you prepared on the grill.

Fully equipped, stainless steel appliances, fully stocked coffee/tea bar, cooking/baking and utensils, basic pantry items, 12 bottle wine fridge

Life-size Scrabble board, Shuffleboard table, Bar and assorted board games

Free wifi, linens/towels, essentials, washer/dryer, complimentary toiletries, hairdryer, Ring doorbell and 2 outdoor security cameras. Please note we do have regular pest control for the entire property and do our best to maintain it out of sight and reach. However, it is your responsibility to watch your children and pets.

THE LOCATION
Great location! Just 1 mile from the quaint community of Strawberry where you will find restaurants, bars and antique shops and 3 miles from Pine with local attractions, restaurants, bars, groceries and a variety of shopping. Elk regularly come through the back yard and surrounding neighborhoods to graze on the Ponderosa and other trees and bushes. Whether you want to hike, bike or just laze around taking in the views and local sites, you won’t be disappointed with all that is available.

Your safety matters. This property features 2 exterior security cameras, above the entry and toward the garage. They do not look into interior spaces. Please note we do have regular pest control for the entire property and do our best to maintain it out of sight and reach. However, it is your responsibility to watch your children and pets.

Views Like None Other

My husband and I spent a very relaxing week at this lovely hideaway. The views from every window are picturesque but become absolutely stunning once you're out on the decks! Just simply delighful! The kitchen is not only well equipped but beautiful, with thick granite countertops and cream colored, handsome cabinets. Loved the big fridge/freezer and large dining table that seats 6. Another plus was the mattress in the upstairs bedroom: total comfort! Actually. this is a perfect house for a family, with plenty of room downstairs. We highly recommend booking this cabin whether you want a peaceful setting with spectacular views or a place to entertain guests on the awesome decks! You would be hard pressed to find something similar for the price and ambience!

Amazing retreat

Awesome home and incredible views! Host was very communicative and easy to work with. Home was just as described, really enjoyed the game room and sitting on the decks. Highly recommend to relax and unwind here.

Enjoyed the hospitality of Susan. Her communication and support was excellent. The house overlooks a large open field and we were surprised with some snowfall the first night. Overall a great experience and would definitely stay again.

Amazing mountain cabin in Arizona

My entire family agrees that this was the best cabin we've stayed at! The location is perfect: quiet, friendly Arizona mountain town with great food, incredible views and weather, and close to many great areas such as Sedona, Prescott, Flagstaff and many parks. If you are traveling to be outdoors, this is the perfect place.The cabin itself was very comfy. The owner had everything labelled well and with easy to understand directions. The views are fantastic right off the back deck. We could not have asked for more.We highly recommend this cabin for anyone!

Wonderful stay!

This was our second time staying at this property and it was wonderful! Loved playing scrabble downstairs and the kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals while it snowed all day! Beautiful views from the two decks!

Just as pictured

The house was just as pictured. It was set up perfectly for our needs. It was quiet, relaxing, and a great place to come back to after long days of hiking. We loved the scenery, the wildlife, game room etc. The list goes on. It would have been a bonus if there was a second tv. Although we didn’t watch it until evenings with littles a second would be great option to not have to compromise on what is being watched. We would definitely come back!

Looking for a cooler getaway

We live in Phoenix So we were looking for somewhere cooler with a nice view… This place was beautifully equipped, the views, the views, the views… Great fire pit sitting on the deck Just enjoying family with a few games… Love the shuffleboard and the scrabble game… And the amount of stars you can see amazing… cheers for a wonderful stay

Lovely location

We so enjoyed the property. The kitchen was well stocked, and both decks were spectacular. Really appreciated the coffee station. Also, it was easy for the different family members to be comfortable, even when my parents wanted their bedroom at 77 and I wanted mine at 66, because the downstairs area remained pretty cool naturally. Seriously, nothing beats that view. And the bottle of wine left for us was so nice.

Amazing cabin with amazing views

This cabin is awesome. The views are breathtaking. By far the best views I’ve ever had staying in a short term rental. We saw numerous elk in the valley below in the evening, which was a pleasant surprise. There were even binoculars provided so that we could get a better look at them. The host was also very responsive and easy to communicate with throughout the entire process. I’m already thinking about when me and my family can come back.

Relaxing and Fun!

The views from this cabin are truly spectacular. The view of the valley below especially at sunset is breathtaking. There are several spacious decks and patios plus games and activities that made our stay both relaxing and super fun. Amazing Stay.
