A Stay Defined by Disappointment
My recent stay at this property was a frustrating series of room changes and technical failures. What should have been a relaxing vacation turned into a stressful ordeal that ruined our honeymoon.
Our issues began on day one when our air conditioning unit started leaking water, forcing us to move rooms. Unfortunately, our new room's phone and internet stopped working shortly after. Despite notifying the staff before noon, the problems were still unresolved by 4:30 p.m. With no working phone, I had to walk to the office to request help, only to be asked to move rooms for a second time. It is unacceptable to be unable to stay in one room for more than 12 hours.
Beyond the room troubles, the property's general upkeep was poor. Despite the hotel being nearly empty, the pool was noticeably dirty and covered in leaves, as if it hadn't been skimmed in days. This lack of basic maintenance was quite surprising for a "5 star" .
The final insult came as we decided to check out a day early. The manager, seeing our frustration, offered a meager $30 discount off our room service bill. This token gesture was insulting given the more than $600 we paid for a stay filled with broken amenities. To top it off, he offered the hopeful, but in this context, laughable, parting phrase: "I hope you come back."
I cannot recommend this hotel. The constant interruptions, lack of maintenance, and insulting attempt at compensation made for an incredibly poor experience.
