This place was perfect for our group! We were in town for a swim meet. It was close to the pool and the other activities we did. It is dated, but clean and comfortable. Felt like we were visiting grandma’s house!

Good place to stay close to cactus yard (softball tournament). Out all day every day so didn’t use much inside the house…We just slept there.

Spacious family home with pool

Our family enjoyed our stay at the Mesa Retreat. Very nice kitchen, plenty of room to relax and a room for everyone to enjoy some solitude. Comfortable beds too.

Quiet and fully equipped home

This feels like home. Spacious rooms, quiet neighborhood and fully stocked with cookware, dishes, utensils, extra towels and blankets. Patio gets morning sun for leisurely breakfast poolside. Very clean with comfortable furniture and beds. Two dining areas good for meals and games.

Spectacular!

A birthday celebration weekend. The house was big enough for all to feel comfortable. The pool was wonderful! The house decor could be a little less cluttered and could use some updating. We would stay there again. The location was perfect!

Overall a really great experience. Just make sure to bring your own shampoo and shower gel. You might also want to consider bringing your own pillow as these aren’t very comfortable.

Nothing but good things to say about this house. Everything we needed was there. No issues at all. Best part was the outdoor patio by the pool. Perfect place to spend the evening. Location was perfect, right in the middle of where we needed to go. My only suggestion would be to come up with some instructions for the TV's. Master bedroom had 4 different remotes. Highly recommend this property to anyone going to Mesa

Pool / cleaning disappointment

Pool was grimy / gross the first couple of days and not able to be used until someone finally came and thoroughly scrubbed and cleaned it.. given a small refund and evolve was responsive to messages My husband was cleaning up my kids toys in one of the bedrooms at one point during our stay and found a rolled up used maxi pad under the bed :( have pics but not able to attach Beds were comfortable and close to go visit family nearby.Cleanliness of feminine product found and kids not understanding why we couldn’t swim the first couple of days was a bummer

The pool had not been cleaned for quite awhile.the host was very slow returning our messages, then accused us of taking pool equipment apart when it never worked the whole time we were there so it was obviously already broken!alreadbrmalfunctioningmai. . Algae was on the sides

The front and back yard are completely covered with weeds. No upkeep at all. Only one lounge chair. The cushions on the outside furniture are super flat and need replaced. We went and bought towels to put over outside furniture. The king size and queen size beds were comfortable. The twin beds are horrible!! The house is super outdated. The couches need replaced due to tears and recliner broke. The house did feel clean when we walked in.

Garden Hills

Upon check in the rental seemed great. We rented for a month so over time we realized that a deep cleaning is in order. The lighting in the bedrooms was very poor, i spoke with the owner about this but nothing changed. Several of the table lamps had very small wattage bulbs which made reading difficult. The furniture was dated and worn. The pool was not maintained and the patio needs repair. The location was great, easy access to everything we needed. All of the kitchen appliances worked as they should. Very nice to have use of the garage.Overall a good stay but pricey for the condition of the rental.

Renter beware

We were excited for our Arizona vacation in a home with a pool. Unfortunately this rental property is run down and outdated. The air conditioning can't keep up with the heat and was set to 88 upon arrival. All the cents don't work properly so there isn't a consistent temperature in the house. The pool equipment wasn't working properly which resulted in a green pool. Needless to say, we found a new rental and got our money back. This property needs a lot of TLC!

Misleading home.

I search and ask for a home with a pool to swim, I got a pool that is green, I fallow protocal from VRBO to try to fix my problems there was no fix I book a house with no pool in the Arizona desert, there were other homes with pools, the property management team never got back with me it was the actual owner who call me a day before check out excusing the neglected pool I understand pools. The day l check out I foundout main bedroom drawer have other people undergarments probably still there as to my vacation home with a pool nope I call VRBO and they forwarded me to the property management till now they gave me 15% of my total bill after hours of calling and complaining, they are forcing me to leave things out of my review to there fit please do your homework when booking.

Great location. Home had multiple maintenance issues. Short on amenities.

Safe, nice, quiet neighborhood, convenient location. Had I not lived in the area previously, we would have been lost as there was no welcome guide. The posted "rules" were rather off-putting. The beds were comfortable as were the linens. Great washer and dryer. The decor and furniture could use updating. The furnace was not working on arrival and wasn't repaired for 5 days since a part needed to be ordered. We were given 2 space heaters on day 3. The GFI in the master bath tripped the 2nd day, therefore, no working outlets in either bathroom for 4 days. GFI outlet couldn't be reset, an electrician came and installed a new one as well as 2 in the kitchen, 1 in the garage and 1 outside to bring it up to code. The family room lights dim when the microwave is in use. There were no toiletries, not even a bar of soap in the bathroom, and no hand soap in the main bathroom. We were allotted only 3 trash bags. Other things such as spices, snacks, coffee or any like amenities did not exist. The furnace repair man and the electrician were awesome! The owner was very difficult to reach and did not keep us up to date on the status of repairs. I reached out to the owner a week ago before I posted a review and got no response, no apology, and definitely no monetary compensation. Not exactly what we had planned for a family holiday visit. We followed every "rule" including washing all bed linens prior to check out. Definitely not what we expected as frequent VRBO users and ourselves owning a rental condo in Panama.

The house was very comfortable and clean, except for the really big spider web in the corner of the ceiling in the small tv room. The beds were very comfy and we slept very well. The kitchen seemed stocked with the items that we needed to make meals. The pool was very clean. We did keep our eyes open for wayward golf balls that would land in the yard and pool. I did let the owner know of some existing damage that was there when we checked in. Broken toilet handle in the master, missing window shade slats, loose curtain rod and a couple of AZ creepy crawlies that my daughter took care of with her trusty slipper. This home is in a very quiet neighborhood and I would definitely rent this home again.

Nice house with big pool problems

Let me start by saying we have rented through VRBO many many times and this is the first negative review I have ever given. We specifically rented this property for the use of the amazing looking pool. It was in the upper 90s tp low 100s during our two week stay and the pool was completely unusable the entire time. The house and location were great. The pool equipment was not working and was a known issue. We tried to be patient but the pool was not as advertised during our entire stay. To add insult to injury, were only compensated $200.00!!! If you are thinking or renting this property, have someone take a look at the pool for you!!

Dirty pool & dangerous backyard

We came to AZ so my husband could have a medical procedure. Picked this house with a pool since he would be recovering and not venturing out a whole lot. The house was very clean, but dated. The pool was too dirty to use. We tried to contact the property manager on day 1 of our 8 day stay and never heard back. While having coffee outback multiple golf balls landed in the backyard. One ball almost hitting me before bouncing in the pool. Multiple golfers come up to the fence looking for their balls. I would not recommend this house to anyone who wants a pool or who wants to enjoy sitting outside. Very disappointed with the lack of interest in resolving the problem while we were there.
