"Lovely, historic hotel with a great bar an restaurant area. The food in the restaurant is of a very high quality. Staff were friendly and helpful in general, although a couple of the younger bar staff not quite as much as the more mature staff. The room was nicely decorated and well appointed, although the bathroom was a little "tired", but was clean and well stocked. "St Ives is a nice place, it still has a tradition, no chain, department store for goodness sake. The Golden Lion is a good base to explore from. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. The bar and restaurant is nicely laid out and decorated. Breakfast was excellent. All in all, really nice. Would I stay again? Yes, most definitely."
