Gracious and generous hosts!

We spent a long weekend visiting with old friends and needed a quiet place with space for our new puppy. This house was ideal! Joe and Carol could not have been more helpful or caring! Their constant communication allowed us to have a minor problem fully resolved on the same day! Beautiful views and fabulous hosts! Just what we needed!

A true gem of a property

This house sits on such a beautiful location overlooking the lake. Our hosts were very friendly and made sure everything went smoothly. When the heater didn't work, he came out personally, got it running again, and made sure it would work properly for the rest of our stay.

Wonderful time away

We enjoyed everything about our stay. Clean, comfortable, thoughtfully equipped with everything. The information book is very useful. It even contains menus from several restaurants! The view is amazing!To watch the sunrises over the Illinois River made getting up early worth it!😊 We will definitely return.

Moving to Peoria

It was a truly relaxing stay with a beautiful view along the Illinois river. Provided just what we needed after moving our son and daughter-in-law to Peoria.

Challenging driveway

The driveway to the home is very steep and winding, which is not noted in the description and shoukd be. The entrance/bottom of the driveway is off a very busy, tree-lined street, making it difficult to find the entrance. We were unable to slow down to find the entrance so we passed the driveway when we first arrived. A big marker would have helped. Also used soap bars, dirty kitchen sponge, and garbage in the kitchen bin were left. A small amount of food (butter and flour) was left behind. Although we were notified before our arrival about a large carpet stain in the living room, overall I felt the cleanliness of the home was not on par with other VRBO homes we have stayed in.

Sister Trip

My 4 sisters and I booked this place for a getaway and it served us well. The view is spectacular. It is a quiet area. Joe was a pleasure to deal with and responds quickly. We would book again.

Don’t hesitate.

Absolutely beautiful property. Others have commented on the tricky driveway, it’s not that bad. Just take your time. If your considering staying here, I assure you you will be happy here

Great house!

We had a great time! House was clean and easy to find. The host was wonderful and easy to communicate with. The woods behind the those was great to explore for my kids! The sunrise/sunset views off front porch were beautiful as well! Quiet area. Highly recommend! If we are in the area again, I would definitely stay here again.

Fine View in Peoria

We stayed over Thanksgiving with local family. The house gave us out-of-towners a great respite, though local enough to join in when we were ready. The house is fine and comfy. The only challenge is the driveway. Once mastered, it was kind of fun!

Girl's Trip

Our group of 5 ladies truly enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. The sunrises from the deck and living room window were breathtaking. We also enjoyed watching the barges, and using the firepit. Joe and Carol answered our questions promptly and even provided a larger folding table for our eating and game playing needs along with a board that we used on the living room table to do puzzles on. They were perfect Hosts! As mentioned in other Reviews the driveway and entrance to the road is a bit challenging, but it helped to arrive in the daylight. Our driver handled it fine with her pickup truck and it was well worth the beautiful views we had from the hilltop. The location was convenient to the Peoria Zoo and Luthy Botanical Garden which we visited. We highly recommend this lovely cottage!

Nice property

House was extremely clean and well equipped. We enjoyed the view and watching the barges on the river. Owner was very responsive and welcoming. The only negative was the steepness of the driveway, and the street being busy at certain times of the day. It made it challenging to drive in and out of the property.

Great Girls Weekend
