    Rooks' Retreat is a contemporary family friendly home in Hodgeston, located just 3 miles from Pembroke, 7 miles from Tenby & 1 mile from Freshwater East with its beautiful golden beach and spectacular cliffs. Manorbier, a well known surfing mecca is another beach within 2 miles of the cottage. A narrow lane winds from Hodgeston to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Footpath, which you can reach after a twenty minute walk. The cottage is in an ideal location to explore the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park & South Pembrokeshire beaches and countryside. Discount is available in November-March when only two people are staying, enquire directly.

    Rooks Retreat is situated right next to the village green on an 'Access Only' lane and with a large fully fenced back garden you can be assured your children will have a wonderful time. We accept 2 well behaved pets, and the cottage's 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms provide great versatility. There is an ensuite bedroom on the ground floor suitable for people with limited mobility. The French doors from this bedroom open onto a sheltered patio. There is oil-fired central heating controlled with individual radiator thermostats, so you are as warm as toast whatever the weather or season. There is also an atmospheric electric fireplace in the sitting room. The open plan sitting/dining room has French doors opening onto the back garden & all rooms are full of light. You will have: a large wide screen TV with Freeview with three more wide screen TVs in the bedrooms plus unlimited free WiFi . There is a good signal for most mobile phone networks.

    The open plan sitting/dining area on the ground floor has a table with 7 chairs, two sofas (two-seater and three-seater) and an arm-chair. In addition, one of the four bedrooms can be used as a "games" room with a TV, video games and board games.

Perfect location for us to visit Freshwater West for the most incredible sunset at high tide, Fresh water East only a 5-9 min drive away beautiful quiet sandy dog friendly beach and the majority of Pembrokeshire coastline. Property was clean and fantastic communication with the owner who was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were spacious and amenities in the property all in working order. We would definitely stay again. Thank you

I specifically booked this property for its private, secure garden and position to a beach. Also the reviews said how peaceful it was. The garden was perfect for us and our dog, with lots of sunshine, the lane the cottage is on was very quiet and we had a lovely 45 minute walk to Freshwater East via the lane and a cut through coastal footpath to the beach. The cottage was comfortable, clean and welcoming, it supplied everything we needed, washing up liquid, kitchen roll, cling film, bin bags, liquid hand soap etc the sort of thing I would normally take with us on a UK holiday. Hodgeston was perfectly positioned for our day trips: Tenby, Saundersfoot, Marloes, Dale, Barafundle Bay and St David’s. We fell in love with Pembrokeshire and we will visit again and would be very happy to stay at Rooks Retreat.

Just spent a week at Rooks Retreat and enjoyed it , house has all your needs clean and comfortable, plenty of very nice beaches short distance away worth a visit .

Great place for a relaxing holiday

Perfect for a relaxing holiday in a great location. Loads of dog friendly beaches within a short distance and all amenities within a few miles in Pembroke. Comms with the host was excellent and the property has everything you will need.

A comfortable and relaxing place to stay.

Very comfortable property and welcoming host. Our adult family group covered all ages from 21 to 79 together with our dog and facilities suited all of us.

Fantastic stay

Lots of room and comfortable stay. Many bathrooms and a secluded suntrap garden. Well positioned to enjoy all of the sights and beaches of the local area. Lots of walks along the coastal path. Had a great time.

Fantastic

Lovely large and spacious cottage with more than enough room for us, our 17 and 9 year old plus dog. Quiet area with everything within an easy distance. We had a great time!

Pleasant enough accommodation. Nice and warm and fairly well equipped for a family of 4. Close to all the best beaches so location is good. All in all you get what you pay for.

The location was great for seeing the local sites. The home was comfortable, but needed some attention for improving cleanliness (upstairs, closets and bathrooms) (mold in bathroom and closets).

Excellent location

Great location, lovely 30 min walk on the coast path to Freshwater East, lots to see and visit in the area for all ages. The accommodation was comfortable and had all the amenities required, the bonus being a fully enclosed garden, safe for dogs and children. We all had a very enjoyable holiday.

Wonderful Property

This was our second stay at Rooks Retreat & we love it. The cottage is well furnished & has everything you need. The location is great for exploring this part of Pembrokeshire and there is a lovely 30 min walk up to the beach. The host is extremely helpful & responsive. Definitely recommend a stay here.

House with amenities and facilities as described. Excellent communication with host. Very well located for delights of Bosherton lily ponds, wonderful beaches and pleasures of Tenby. Would thoroughly recommend this accommodation.

Comfortable house for exploring Pembrokeshire

The property is clean, comfortable and well-equipped. It was convenient for beautiful cliff walks, swimming at the lovely beaches and visiting gardens. The enclosed garden was ideal for the dog but needs weeding.

Fantastic Property

If you’re looking for a great base for exploring the area, I can thoroughly recommend this cottage. Had everything we needed for a fantastic new year week. Warm and cozy! A well equipped kitchen, very comfy beds, perfect open plan kitchen, diner and lounge. Had everything we needed. Great VFM!!
