Staying at the Villa Alessandra is strictly okay. The single room is TINY. You have to walk sideways to get around the bed. If you ask for a room with a normal amount of space around the bed there's a surcharge. You can't access the closet easily because of the cramped space.
Every time my room was turned over, nobody bothered to bring in another bottle of water. I have never been in a hotel which doesn't give you a bottle of water with every turnover and it's something you have to ask for. Which I had to do, repeatedly with varying results.
The next and more serious charge- one day I came back to my room door slightly ajar. I thought somebody was still cleaning, but whoever they were had neglected to safeguard my privacy and my belongings when they didn't bother to do the bare minimum and close the door. As a solo female traveler I didn't enjoy that experience.
Finally, although I paid for an AC room the AC never worked. The people at reception "Explained" how it worked but never bothered to come upstairs to try to address the problem where it was. In fact one of them told me to "open a window".
I would rate this at 2.5 if I could. Only go here if you can't afford elsewhere.
