Character, Comfort & Convenience
The home was as described, full of character and the owner's private collections. Artist imprint indeed! Full of beautiful unique pieces of art and loaded with French character we loved our stay here. The home was comfortable, the bathrooms updated and clean, the kitchen had everything we needed and more, and the little garden was a little slice of heaven in the midst of the city. The Location was great - We were less than a 5 minute walk to 2 underground stations making all the major sites within 15-25 minute ride - and several quite walkable. Our first day we walked to Notre Dame and enjoyed the sites along the way. Multiple cafe's and wonderful bakeries were within a block as were several grocery stores and a pharmacy. We loved cafe Lemoine for breakfast and the little blue roofed bakery across the street for breads, sandwiches and treats. There were several fun pubs/bars to enjoy a late night glass of wine - the nightlife frequently continues until midnight, but again, our flat was quiet and peaceful despite being a stones-throw from the activity. On one of our last nights, we found ourselves at foot of the Sacre Couer in Montmarte for a great street performer who played live music for hours with much of Paris laid out before us - it was magical! The people at Veeve made the whole thing simple and were great at communicating with us along the planning and departure. I would LOVE to meet the homeowner. Art History Prof at the Sorbonne, maybe?
