"The Coal Exchange is a grand old building with an interesting history, but that’s no excuse for how shabby and dim it is. I feel like it could be thoroughly modernised without losing any of its historical charm. It wasn’t made obvious to me when I booked on Expedia, but I had apparently booked a wheelchair accessible room - I guess it was the last room available at the price I wanted to pay. It was like staying in a dark hot dungeon. It was dark because it only had one window and it looked out...

"Room was overpriced for a concert, £400 per night when £220 normally. I’d expect an uplift but not this much. Room was worn, fan and windows dusty and unclean. Other room had no hot water in shower so unable to use. Noisy and limited sleep although bed comfortable No bar as closed. WiFi non existent and no 5G signal so if you want a quiet night and no shower then ideal place. Breakfast mediocre"

"This is a fantastic hotel right in the heart of Cardiff and just a quick walk to so many bars, cafes, shops and the Castle. Our room was so lovely. It had a very funky vibe and was beautiful decorated, clean and comfortable. We loved it! The community lounge and deck was also a great addition giving you access to a great hang out area. It is also well stocked with snacks and drinks. The restaurant downstairs was also nice. We parked our car in the public carpark opposite the hotel which was easy...

"Excellent value, clean, modern, non frills hotel about 12 minutes walk straight to Cardiff city centre. Lucky it got Aircon because it's about 30°c outside today. Molly the receptionist was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Highly recommended."

Great selection available for the continental breakfast and all presented nicely. Great comeunication from the host prior to arrival and the whole experience was very welcoming."
