"The host was very friendly and this spot was perfect for us for the night. Quiet and close to the event we were in town to see. It was hot but had hookups so we enjoyed the AC in our camper until it cooled down enough to open up windows. Such a lovely little town. We'll be back next year!"

"When we pulled up to Shady Rest we thought, "okay.." But when we got inside, we were blown away, because for the price of a hotel room we had an entire house! John, the owner, greeted us and we got to know each other a little bit He was friendly and made sure we lacked nothing. John even offered us plums and/or apples from his fruit trees. "The cabin was very cozy, it was clean, and had all we needed to have a comfortable, relaxing stay. I wish we could’ve stayed more than one night because it was so peaceful, and I wanted to enjoy the cabin a little longer. We sat by the fire at night and that was really nice and it was fun to be by the river. "

"This is a very nice accommodation for a short stay especially. It is very small, and downstairs with no bore to outside. The back yard though with flower garden and chickens is delightful. Inside, it is one of the cleanest we have been in. And thoughtfully furnished. The kitchen is pretty spacious considering th overall amount of space, and supplied with more than adequate dishes, cutlery, kitchen tools, even dog food and water dishes. "Wonderful property, spacious rooms and great for a family! Definitely recommend checking out diamond lake which is not far from the cabin and is absolutely beautiful. Check out was super simple and the rules were basic and common sense, so incredibly easy to follow. Loved how fully stocked this cabin was from the kitchen to the bedrooms! "
