Behind one of Paonia's oldest historic homes, you'll find the wonderfully private Studio Cottage.

This spacious studio cottage is nestled in a mature, shady garden with relaxing front porch, a hammock under a grape arbor, and outdoor dining area. Equipped with excellent WIFI, and offering weekly and monthly discounts, it's a wonderful spot for a working vacation.

Waking up to the sounds of birds chirping and wind chimes is complete magic! The cottage is outfitted with everything you could possibly need for a wonderful month, week or weekend in Paonia including a small library of books by local Paonia authors. We DO have good WiFi, but DO NOT have TV.

The cottage is conveniently close to everything that is great about Paonia as downtown is only a five minute walk. There you'll find your choice of great restaurants including the Back Country Bistro, The Living Farm Cafe, The Flying Fork, Louie’s Pizza, and the infamous Revolution Brewery, or attend a movie, concert or yoga class at the wonderful Paradise Theatre or Blue Sage Center for the Arts.

Tour the numerous local wineries which are within a 10 -15 minute drive from the cottage, or take a leisurely drive through the valley to see all the bounty and beauty of our many organic farms and orchards. Great hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, horseback riding and world-class trout fishing are all within easy reach.

Paonia boasts fantastic musicians, writers, artists and craftspeople along with many festivals such as Cherry Days in July, Mountain Harvest Fest in September, and a local film festival in early Spring.

While visiting Paonia and the North Fork Valley, you will experience some of the most spectacular scenery in Western Colorado; the Black Canyon National Monument, Grand Mesa, West Elks Scenic Byway, the historic mining towns of Redstone and Marble, and both Kebler and McLure passes are all within an hour and a half drive. Crested Butte, Telluride and Aspen are 2 to 2-1/2 hours from Paonia.

Wonderful

The cottage is lovely, clean, quiet and walkable to Grand st. Communication was clear and easy. Bed is comfortable and bath perfect. No microwave or hairdryer but I was prepared. Outside has porch and dining area. Stay and you won’t be disappointed. outside is charming and also quiet.

Amazing Quaint Cottage

What a magical place to stay - my husband and I kept saying, "Perfect!" the whole time. Such a quiet place to retreat, which is what we were needing. Even better than the pictures :)

Great location!

This is a super-cute, private cottage with everything you need... plus a hammock! We had a great time. The wifi wasn't the greatest, but I think the owner will work the kinks out. They're very responsive. Thanks!

Cute cottage

We always enjoy staying here whenever we’re in Paonia. Comfortable and well equipped. Love the outside area. Unfortunately there was construction on other side of the fence which made hanging outside noisy and unpleasant. We’ll be back………..Barbara and Tom

Great Location

I was a little nervous trying to rent something in Paonia because there weren’t a lot of options when I was looking. This was perfect for what I needed and in a perfect location central to everywhere I needed to be. Super cute - had everything we needed including great AC!

Anniversary getaway

Quiet, beautiful cottage in a picturesque setting. Able to cook meals, and enjoyed food at winery's nearby as well. Hosts communicated well with us and were very welcoming.

Cottage was quaint/charming on a pleasant st 2 blocks from Grand St. It was stocked nicely with the exceptions of no ice, no shampoo, and no cream for coffee. Also, no tv. Main issue was that most of the resteraunts were closed ( we were there in the 3rd week of Aug).

Perfect stay!

We were so thrilled with our accommodations. They were just as the property was described but even more wonderful to enjoy in person. Paonia bread works (cash only!) and sweet grass had wonderful breakfast options. All within walking distance. The farms and vineyards are just a quick drive up the road. We would absolutely stay here again should we find ourselves in Paonia.

Comfy and Quiet!

We loved our stay in this adorable guest cottage in Paonia. Quiet spot in town, with a lovely garden. Definitely recommend a nap in the hammock! The town is very walkable - we only used our car when we wanted to visit the nearby wineries. Highly recommend Berg Harvest & Mercantile for visitors to Paonia. There is no microwave in the kitchen, which meant we needed to get creative with heating up our leftovers. That was minor enough that it did not diminish our enjoyment. The bed is comfortable, and the cottage cools off nicely with the in-unit AC during the heat of the day. At night we simply opened the windows. With the altitude, the nights are cool and pleasant. We will look here first when we come back to Paonia!

Downtown Paonia Location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage.The location is great! Just a short walk to downtown and the grocery store. The outside garden is lovely and comfortable. The cottage was clean and the kitchen had everything one would need.We stayed during the summer and the cooling system kept us comfortable. Parking on the street was easy. I totally recommend the cottage as a place to stay in Paonia. One last recommendation…. Ask the local shop owners about the best restaurants. There is also a health food store located on the Main Street downtown.

Lovely cottage

We love this property and have stayed there a couple of times previously. The outdoor space is fantastic! The interior sweet and cozy. However it looked a little more ragged and not as clean this time ( the blue quilt needs to be washed). But we’ll be back. Thanks, Barbara and Tom

Adorable Cottage and fun area!

We stayed two nights in this great cottage. It is perfectly outfitted. So comfy and inviting inside and out. We enjoyed making meals and relaxing at the space! We also walked around the downtown area and enjoyed some great eateries, coffee and galleries! We spent part of an afternoon at the Azura winery with fantastic wines, food and views. We visited Living Farm and grabbed some fresh eggs and produce. It was a perfect relaxing getaway! We love this cottage and the whole Paonia area.

Quaint and quiet

Really enjoyed our stay here in September. The garden is peaceful and private and the kitchen was very well appointed. The photos are very accurate and reflect the work the owners have done. The added bonus was the cat, who magically appeared every time we returned. A real joy to chill with on the porch. Would return.
