Winslow on the Shire is a large, English Tudor, luxury vacation rental. You will love this 11 bedroom/12 bath estate that has all the comfort and amenities to sleep 16.   Your group will love cooking together around the huge island in the state of the art 1,000 sq ft fully stocked kitchen with a full Viking Stove and GE Profile appliances and everything you'd need for the kitchen including 3 coffee makers, blender, KitchenAid mixer, ice tea maker, rice cooker, crock pot, spices, pans, outdoor gas grill, and more!



Conveniently located off Highway 84 just across the street from beautiful Echo Lake, Winslow is a haven for retreats, artists' workshops, quilters or for large group events--when family and friends want a unique vacation experience in beautiful Pagosa Springs, Colorado.



Winslow is a privately owned, large, English Tudor style family home situated on fifteen acres with five levels of living space. This gorgeous home has been remodeled from top to bottom and has eleven themed bedrooms!



You and your guests will spend an unforgettable week or more relaxing and enjoying the comfort and amenities of Winslow on the Shire whether you come in the Winter, Spring, Summer or Autumn!

An Amazing house with an amazing kitchen. If you have a lot of cooks you can’t go wrong. It mis a great take off place for just about anything: Hikiing, Bikiing. Hot Springs, Disc Gold, Paddle Boardinfg.

Our Family's Favorite!

Our family of 11 people ranging in age from 66 years to 3 months absolutely loved this house! It was wonderfully stocked with everything we needed, and it was amazingly comfortable and stunning. We had an issue with hot water one night, and it was fixed within an hour. The customer service was spot on.We will for sure make a return trip to this beautiful home.In the words of our grandchildren, it was the best house ever!

Family Reunion Lodging

This home Is huge with plenty of room, beds and bathrooms - perfect for a family reunion. The kitchen was big and included everything we needed and more, even some spices! Each bedroom has a theme which added to the fun. The house does have a lot of stairs throughout the house, sometimes only a step or two, but thought you should know this if your group includes someone who can't do stairs.

Spring break!

The owner & care taker were very kind & helpful on answering any questions! Loved staying at this large home. Plenty of room & beds & bathrooms, were great. This is a great place for large groups. My family was very happy I reserved this home. You will be glad you stayed here. We want to go back again!!!!!!!!!!

Spectacular Rental

This rental receives my highest praise - 10 stars, and exceeds the only other rental I have praised so highly. The website photos do not portray the magnificence of this house! The house is well insulated and quiet. Not once did I hear our very loud grandson unless I was in the same room. The kitchen is very well stocked, and the hardest part serving brunch was what dishes to use. The caretaker Jim was very easy to reach and communicate with . . . adding to a wonderful experience.

Fabulous Time

The property was amazing!!! I’ve seen this house from a distance for over 30 years and finally got to stay there. It was such a unique experience for my family. There were 12 of us and we had room for 12 more! It was wonderful!

Huge spaces and unique decor

We had a destination anniversary party and had people coming from all over the country. The shire was home-base and the whole party ended up there a lot even after the parties at rented locations. It was quite rainy and there was leaking in the kitchen and the property manager handled it quickly and gave us communication with the contractor right away. Leaky roof was the only overall star knock off.

Great for Family Reunion

We chose Winslow on the Shire due to its location to the family members who would be attending our reunion as well as its ability to house all of us. We were not disappointed. Everything we needed was available and you can't beat the views in Pagosa Springs CO!! We most definitely would stay here again for upcoming reunions.

Great Place

This property was stunning and provided enough room for the whole group of 18 people. With the cool features of the house as well games that were there it was a great place to stay for our Ski Trip/Hot Springs Trip! Would highly recommend for large groups!!

Perfect for a retreat

The house is large with many different seating areas, which means people can flow from one conversation to another. One evening we had a group downstairs discussing doctoral school, while others played pool, some just chatted and another pair engaged in a piano lesson upstairs (we brought our own electric piano). Meal prep was also easy as the kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed. It did appear as though having someone re-organize the kitchen would be helpful as over time looks like guests have put things away in various places. The deck was lovely for meals and we held one breakfast outside as well as a sunset dinner. Tablecloths were available for the tables and there was enough seating for everyone. The location is great, just outside of town. I had to run into Pagosa to grab some syrup one morning and it took only 10 minutes to get all the way across town to the City Market. I would definitely recommend this property. Finally, the owners obviously have a sense of humor. This you have to experience while visiting different rooms, themes, etc. It is not easily described here.

Family Reunion in Pagosa Springs

This place was amazing! We had a huge group of 29 people and there was plenty of space for everyone! Location is great with beautiful views, hiking close by and close to Pagosa Springs. It was really important to me to have our whole group under the same roof and we were able to do that here. I would recommend Winslow at the shire to any large group.

The best ever!

We have been renting homes for our family vacation since 1989. This house was wonderful-every bedroom and bathroom so uniquely decorated. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. We went tubing, to the hot springs, Mesa Verde and 4 wheeling. Our family of 23 had aged 3 to 81.

Family Getaway

Winslow on the Shire was perfect for our family reunion. There were enough bedrooms and spaces that we could spread out and come together. The younger kids and teenagers loved the game room. That gave the adults time to visit and relax. Plenty of space to eat, have a talent show and the house itself is amazing and fun to explore.

We had a wonderful time! The property was amazing. There was more than enough room for our family. The view was beautiful and it is located in close proximity to downtown. The owners, as well as, the manager were very accessible and accommodating.

Very Cool Place

This is the most amazing home and the owner could not have been any nicer or helpful.. We were a group of 21, 4-60, friends and family for Spring Break skiing. It was perfect! Big enough for us to spread out, the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable and the kitchen is just fantasist for group cooking and standing around visiting about our day on the slopes. The location was the best, (we are not a quite bunch) it was easy to get to just outside of. town and close to Wolfcreek. It has so many fun features, we sled down the hill, we played lights out hide-n-seek and the downstairs game room, OMG! We are already looking forward to our next stay... P.S. This review is very hard for me to write because I’m afraid once people find out how amazing this property is, it will always be booked and we will not ever get to stay here again..

Perfect Snowy Getaway

We are typically the beach type of travelers but in this instance we decided to try a different type of climate. We were so happy with every aspect of our trip and most importantly this home. The home features unique themed rooms such as Pirate Room, Marilyn Monroe Room , Tinkerbelle Room, etc. As soon as we arrived the kids ran to choose their favorite. When we weren't busy sliding off into the snow from the back porch, we entertained ourselves in the game room downstairs, sat and read a book in one of the alcoves or just simply sat around and played games. This home is perfect for large groups and the kitchen was equiped for just that purpose. From literally 20 or more sets of silverware, multiple plates and cups and plenty of tables for sitting and enjoying home made meals. Pagosa Springs downtown is approximately 15 min away . On one of our days we enjoyed a soak in the hot springs in downtown Pagosa Springs and another day was spent at Wolfcreek Ski Resort for skiing and snowboarding. The Owners were prompt in answering our questions or concerns. There is no doubt you would enjoy your stay in this palace, Yes, palace..it's so spacious! When we were leaving two of our kids said goodbye and thanks to the home and see you next year!
