This home is a short walk from Lake Hatcher, where you can fish for rainbow trout, brown trout, largemouth bass, and yellow perch. The Pagosa Springs Golf Club is only six miles from this rental, while an extensive network of hiking trails winds through the San Juan and Rio Grande National Forests nearby. In winter, Wolf Creek Ski Area offers skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing 33 miles away.

Christmas in Colorado

We brought our kids and grandkids for Christmas. The house was beautifully decorated for the occasion. We had one little problem with the boiler but the property manager walked me through resetting it and we had hot water again in not time. There was ample room for everyone without feeling crowded.

Disappointing issues

Overall this was a nice place it was large and spacious. Kids loved the pool table and hot tub. If we didn't run into the issues I would of rated the property with 5 stars. When we arrived there was some minor cleanliness issues in the master bathroom and kitchen. We quickly discovered 2 mounds of what was determined by the management company as bat droppings in the master bedroom and entry. There is a support beam between the master bedroom and the entry where the bats were getting into from the outside. The bats poop was falling in between the cracks of the dry wall and support beam onto the carpet. On the second morning at 7am there was 2 excavators in the back yard digging a trench. A contract company was laying some sort of lines into the ground. It woke up the family and was loud. On the third morning it was more of the same with 2 excavators at 7am. On this day the contract company cut the phone lines therefore we had no phone service (this property is remove enough that there is no cell phone service), no internet and no tv (the property has internet tv provider). On the forth morning it was more of the same with 2 excavators and now a front loader joined in at 7am. The management company came out in the late morning and talked with the contractors and they were aware they cut the phone lines and service was restored that morning. A contract company being on a property is not typical but it was disappointing that the owners/property management company did not inform us of this work and did not let us choose to find another property. People don't bring heavy equipment onto your property without you being informed. The management company did give us a small refund for these issues.

Great place for family

Huge 2 story home with plenty of room inside and out for a big family. Everything is close and everything was included in the house. I recommend to anyone looking for a good time and we will be back!

Perfect house!

We absolutely loved this house. It was perfect for our family. Our party of 7- my family of 5 plus my parents- had plenty of space. This is probably the most well stocked kitchen of any rental I have ever stayed in. The beds are very comfortable. The kids played countless games of ping pong and there are lots of games and DVD’s in addition to the satellite. I could not have been more happy with the house. My complaints are about Vacasa. The check in instructions provide a code for a lock box. The problem is there is a key code entrance on front door, a key pad for the garage door, a lock box just above the garage key pad, and a lock box next to an entrance door to the basement. We had to search around to figure out which entrance the code was meant for. Additionally, the people that answer the main Vacasa number and emails have absolutely no information and no clue about what is available for the specific property. I emailed to ask if there was a Blu-ray and was told no. I then asked if there was a DVD player and was told no. There is, in fact, a Blu-Ray with quite an expansive library of movies available. I asked if there was a crockpot and was told no. There are two. We called to ask how to obtain a local fishing permit (necessary to fish in Pagosa Lakes). The phone operator had no idea. It was not until I expressed my displeasure with the lack of service provided by Vacasa that the local property manager called with information on how to obtain the local permit. Once we had the information for the local property manager, she was very helpful. I absolutely love this beautiful house and would stay there again. Vacasa needs to work on the service that they provide.
