"We had a great stay, weather very mixed and appreciated Railway Cottage being warm and cosy. Oughterard was a great base foe exploring and provided all we needed - Sullivan's cinnamon buns are addictive! Thanks to Joe for info about the area and Carmel for the scones. We were made very welcome by hosts and their lovely dogs."

"We enjoyed the owner and property manager. Beautiful view of the water. When the house was first built it was probably very nice. It needs a little tender loving care. Some spiders were harmed while we stayed there."

"Good value. The doors are really loud no matter how gently you try to close them. The walk to city centre is on a very busy road, but the upside is there plenty of shopping close to the hostel. "

"Combo washer and dryer did not get clothes done quickly or actually dry. Bring a travel clothesline if you plan to wash clothes. Otherwise the place was modern and nice."

"Beautiful, spacious property. Practical Details for Americans: they have a water kettle not a coffee pot, so purchase instant or bag coffee before you come, not beans or ground. They have a washer and dryer. You need to bring pods and be aware, it's a condenser dryer that takes about 2 hours to dry a verysmall load (5-6 items). Be sure to empty the dryer water tank. It's muddy on the property, so bring slippers or alternate shoes plus something to put your shoes in to protect your suitcase....
