"We were up at Waimarino to ski for the week with our two young children, the house was a perfect little bolt hole when weren’t on the mountain!Our only issues were that while there was a log burner and wood for it, unfortunately the wood was all rather damp and there was no way to chop any smaller kindling to even get the fire going, thank goodness for the heat pump, so we were all sorted! Also the Freeview box lost signal on our last night, but no biggie, we were all ready for an early night by...

"We stayed here for three nights while exploring the area. It was a perfect gem to come home to. Very nicely furnished and has everything needed for a perfect and relaxing stay. The views are magical. The owners are very responsive and great to work with. "

"I'd guess it's our 4th or 5th stay, our preferred base when venturing down to try our luck on the rivers. Basic but everything we need is included. We really enjoy the heavy flow shower and the pre diner drink spot overlooking the river...remembering always to bring camp chairs. Thanks again for letting us stay."

"We loved our stay here and would have stayed longer. The house is beautifully laid out with the living areas upstairs (beautiful views!) and the sleeping downstairs. The kitchen is quite well appointed and has an excellent oven and stove. It's a little drive to anywhere but we had a rental car so that was no issue, only 15 mins to Tongariro visitors centre. "

"Stayed for just one night in this lovely, character-filled home to watch our daughter run the Tongariro Goat the next day (usually stay for two nights but unfortunately couldn't this time).What a great place! So much character, great open plan living area, plenty of sleeping space with comfy beds and a lovely setting. Definitely want to come back and enjoy the place more fully, including the hot tub!Sienna was fantastic to deal with.Many thanks ."

"The house was great, we stayed so my husband and brother in law could do the Tongariro Crossing. We all stayed including the kids and there was plenty of room and had everything we needed. John was great allowing a super late checkout for us also. The housr was clean and tidy. Perfect property for our stay and family numbers. Would highly recommend this property "

"Tekoa Lodge was perfect for our family ski trip. House is very warm with the woodburner going. Lots of space inside and out. Very short drive to the mountain. The private bush track down the river is also very cool. We would certainly stay again. Oh, and David is an excellent communicator. "

"This property was beyond amazing !!!! When we walked into this graciously apportioned property, the incredible view from the back porch took our breath away. Comfy beds, plenty on room, a great kitchen and did I mention the VIEW !!!! We have been in NZ for almost 2 months on both islands; this has got to be the nicest property we have stayed at yet. And the hosts are just as great as the view. A property like this in the US would cost 4 or 5 times as much, but the chances of ever getting a...

"right by the lake and a beach with ideal swimming. The house has bush around which keeps it cool in summer. Being dog friendly was important to us. Well stocked and all amenities there. Owner really friendly and responsive. Recommend this place to anyone "
