"It is a historic place. Everyone in Syracusa knows this hotel. There is wonderful breakfast. Rooms are unique and beautiful. We had two rooms that connected with a hallway. Loved the grand staircase. Easy to walk everywhere in Ortigia. "

"Absolutely recommend this hotel. In great location, garden room was nice and quiet (requested a quiet room and hotel accomdated it, which really appreciated it). Bed is very comfortable (not super soft which provide a great support for my back. Duvet and bedding are also comfortable. Pillows are on the slight firm end but still okay. "Beautiful hotel right on the waterfront with parking (paid) just in front. Excellent service and breakfasts. Room elegant with high ceilings but would benefit from air conditioning for the summer months. Easy walking to seafront and around Ortigia. "

"This is a small but fantastic hotel. The location is great- amazing views of the water and easily walking distance to restaurants and shops and all of Ortigia. The breakfast is on the top floor with windows overlooking the sea. The food was good- only complaint is the eggs were always cold. There was fresh juice, all kinds of coffee and tea. "We were not familiar and it took a minute to locate as the entrance is not facing the street. Once we found it, Giuliani checked us right in and set up a parking valet for us. She helped us with our luggage and showed us to our room. Beautiful building with great history. Rooms were quiet and clean. The Manager, Domenico was an absolute treat and made us feel right at home. I can’t wait to go back. Grazie Mille, Lanterne Magiche! You have earned guests for a lifetime. "

"This property has it all! Parking, although not free, was close by and safe. The rooftop terrace we enjoyed immensely and the room was very nice. The island is loaded with restaurants and shopping, everything is within a short walk and very safe. We also enjoyed a boat trip around the island. Our host Manuela was very nice and friendly as well!"

"My husband & I stayed 2 nights in mid-May 2025. We loved this historic and fascinating B&B within a current convent (yes, we saw the nuns!). Comfortable 2nd floor room that opened onto a quiet, shared, shaded terrace. There’s also a ln upper terrace with seattle & sea views. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Note: wifi was very unreliable. We parked our rental car at the Talete garage about 10 minutes walk, for €15 per 24 hrs. Overall, this was a great location for us in Ortigia."
