"We enjoyed our stay, especially the outdoor patio. Rocking on the chairs to decompress after a busy travel day was perfect. I personally loved the outdoor shower but it was not private - you share it with another unit. Hosts were great and lovely people. Their dogs are so sweet and gentle! They location is a bit of a drive from the main roads to Hilo but excellent access to volcano national park. The unit had everything we could need. Great stay."

"Think of it as luxury camping and you'll be happy. If your idea of comfort is umbrella drinks by the pool, you will not. Personally, I loved it. But it's not for everyone. This is a rustic cabin in the jungle. 4.5 miles off the main road, 2.2 miles of it is dirt (well maintained, regular cars not a problem). 15 minute drive to nearest civilization (the part of the description being in the middle of a historic town is inaccurate - it's 7 miles outside a historic town). "This is a guest house beside the owner's place. The room was clean and spacious and the weather at the end of March was so comfortable that we didn't have to switch on the AC at night. However, it did get very hot in the day so we opened the windows to let the hot air out. Also, a few very cute and friendly cats also live on the property. Loved the place!"
