The Yurt located in beautiful O'Connell

"The Yurt" is situated approximately 2km drive from the historic Village of O'Connell, and 15 minutes from Bathurst in Central Western NSW. Three hours from Sydney, "The Yurt" makes the perfect weekender. The property boasts two options for accommodation the iconic "Yurt", and the "Garden Room".

"The Yurt" sits high on the hill overlooking the Fish River and the Valley of O'Connell. Enjoy a glass of wine or a morning coffee on the deck and take in the 180-degree views.

The Yurt is fully self-contained and can accommodate four people in 2 separate bedrooms. Bedroom one has a Queen Bed; bedroom 2 has two Single Beds. All the beds have electric blankets. The bathroom has both a corner bath (which you can wallow in and watch the sun set) also separate shower. Linen and towels are included.

The kitchenette has a hot plate, microwave, BBQ and the all-important coffee machine. The reverse cycle heating and cooling is located in the sitting room as well as the TV and DVD player.

Also available for additional surcharge is the "Garden Room". (At an extra nightly cost to be negotiated subject to number of guests) This self-contained room with kitchenette and en suite with a shower it is a short one minute walk through the garden from "The Yurt." Perfect for extra guests. The "Garden Room", accommodates three guests comfortably with three beds, (two king single). Electric blankets, linen and towels are included.
O'Connell Hotel is a 5 minute drive down the hill and open 7 days a week. In the village is the O'Connell Cafe offering scrumptious breakfasts and lunches from Friday-Sunday, or just enjoy a "Fish River Roasters" coffee and treat.

Magnificent "Mayfield Gardens" boasting over 40 hectares is just a 20 minute drive, also offering lunches and coffee, open 7 days. Wide variety of plants for sale from their nursery.
Jenolan Caves a little over hour drive.
15 minute drive to Bathurst, famous for its car racing at Mt Panorama, worth taking a drive for views over the city. Many sporting venues, cycling particularly popular.
Scenic drives through local villages, Tarana, Rockley, Perthville, Newbridge, Millthorpe, Wattle Flat, historic Sofala and Hill End all comfortable day trips.
Cowra and Orange just over an hour away renowned for restaurants and vineyards.

As we have a menagerie of bird life here including our chooks, guinea fowl and fan tail pigeons all free ranging, we sadly can’t have dogs or cats.

Should guests prefer a long term rental, this can be negotiated.

Quirky’Yurt’ with beautiful views. Reasonably quiet but quite close to a fairly busy road. Very clean and welcoming. Loved to see nearby paddocks with cows goats etc

The Yurt is a hidden gem in O'Connell. The view from the veranda overlooks the beautiful landscape of country NSW. The kitchen is fully functional for light cooking. In cold winter days, the reverse cycle air cond and the electric blankets keep us warm and comfortable at night. It would be perfect if the WIFI signal could be stronger. I'd love to come back for longer stay in the future.

Was here for two nights. Yurt was an amazing little cottage, great farm views and comfy bed. Owner Louise was very friendly. Partner particularly liked the neighbours little goats.

We had a lovely stay here - very clean, beds were super comfy (best two nights sleep we’ve had in ages), kids had fun roasting marshmallows in the fire pit and watching the sunset from the bath! Beautiful views and handy to Bathurst (15 mins) for provisions, or the O Connell Hotel for dinner (5 mins). Thanks, we had a great weekend!

We loved the quiet and peace during our three night stay. The property is beautiful, rolling meadows all around us with grazing sheep and cows. Nev and Louise are wonderful hosts and we were treated to fresh eggs. I had a beautiful time decompressing and it proved to be the holiday we really needed. The bonus, a kangaroo, joey in pouch, coming to visit us one of the mornings. My kids loved every moment of it.

Just as advertised, absolutely beautiful expansive views. Our small family had an amazing time at the Yurt. Very neat and clean with all essentials provided. The kids loved the bathtub which overlooked the beautiful fields. Being on top of a hill, we could see far and wide into the distance and enjoyed amazing views of both sunrises and sunsets. Louise was so helpful and promptly replied to all my enquiries. Definitely will be coming back!

The Yurt was lovely had everything we needed. The views were spectacular especially at sunset. Lovely hosts and we were given a dozen fresh eggs straight from the farm! Highly recommend staying there. We will be back.
