Cottage Walking Distance to the Beach W/ E-Bikes

Thank you for considering Oak Island Escape. This may be the PERFECT place for you if:

- You want to be walking distance to the beach
- You want a place to yourself but don't need a mansion and want to avoid a condo with shared spaces
- You want separate TV areas if the kids and adults want space after a long day

For the best possible experience, please read the full description as it contains important notes to understand before booking. We want to make sure that our home is right for you!

Our home has 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed and another with bunk beds. There is a large sectional couch in the main living area that is there for ultimate rest and relaxation after a long day at the beach.

The kitchen is equipped the essentials as well as more. As long as you aren't cooking very complicated dishes there should be everything you need. Dishes, silverware, pots/pans, etc. are all there for your dining needs. There is a 4 person dining table for family dinners or hanging around and playing games!

The bathroom is fully equipped with what you would need. We provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, full size bath towels, wash clothes, hand towels, and a bath mat. Please bring you own beach towels.

There is a full size washer and dryer along with detergent for your use at the property.

The entire home is just for you! There is plenty of room for 2 cars in the driveway which is private to just you. You have an easy walk to the beach from the property.

***Please make sure to indicate within the Airbnb platform if you plan on bringing pets. There is a one time $100 pet fee that ends up being split up over the number of nights that you are staying and it will reflect in the nightly rate. We allow up to 2 dogs***
There is no smoking at the property, there is a $200 if the property has been smoked in.

We do allow pets but we ask that they stay off of the furniture and if they are left at the property alone that they are in a crate. Please pick up their poop as well.

Great place for a quick getaway

We had everything we needed and the hosts were very responsive. Some extra conveniences would be nice but it's the beach after all! The back porch was a wonderful space and made the house very functional for our whole family. Access to the beach was very easy with a short walk and everything on Oak Island was just a small distance away. We did not use the bikes but they were there and ready and looked like they would have been fun to use. Highly recommended if you like simplicity and don't need a lot of space.

Small but cute

It was a little smaller than we anticipated. But luckily since it was just me and my husband it was fine. The bathroom is very small barely enough room on the sink and for makeup or toiletries. Would be nice if there were some blankets and the comforter definitely needed washed. Location was great, and having the Keurig and coffee pods was wonderful! Would recommend for a couple, or maybe with a small child but any more than that might be tight in my opinion. An outdoor shower would benefit it tremendously especially with having only one bathroom! We had a great time.

Great property overall for the value. Close to the beach, clean, and owner is responsive. Some of the surrounding properties are a bit rough looking but overall it’s in a nice area.

Disappointing Stay

The listing description was misleading and oversold the property. The bed was extremely hard, with a heavy plastic cover making it unusable--we had to sleep on the sofa instead. The kitchen lacked a table or counterspace (the table in the photo was located on the back porch), and basic cleaning supplies like detergent, broom, or vacuum were not provided. The front door lock didn't work, requiring our time to trouble shoot and bring our valuables along when we left the property. No hangers, hooks, or racks for wet towels and clothes were provided. Given these issues, the price was not justified for what was actually offered.

Perfect size and clean. Loved the location and amenities. Couch was amazingly comfortable!
