“This historic Victorian was once home to Admiral William Sowden Sims (past President of the Naval War College in Newport Rhode Island) which inspired the name of our accommodations, but now features King bed Studios with Kitchenette and fireplace including private baths, Cable TV, Air-Conditioning, Free Wi-Fi, and Free off-street parking.

It’s perfect for government / military per diem travel or for teleworkers who need a change of scenery.

The garden is private....yet just minutes away, you’re in the center of Newport’s many activities, historical attractions, fine restaurants, ocean beach, and unique shops. At the end of each day, you’ll return to sleep in quiet, historic settings.

Great Place to Stay in Newport!

We had a great stay here! Owners were very nice and easy to communicate with. The house is about a 20-25 minute walk to the busy part of Newport so we walked it most of the time but did need the occasional Uber. Rooms were spacious and clean. Bathroom was very nice. Definitely recommend staying here if you are visiting the area.

Newport gem.

If there were a 10 star rating I would give it. Our stay was perfect. Cozy room, comfortable bed, a sweet breakfast with home baked breads. The property is immaculate. The wrap around porch was a special bonus. We sat outside each evening sipping wine and playing games. The neighborhood is beautiful and very safe. It is walking distance to Cliff Walk. Convenient to everything. Marie and Shelly thought of everything a guest would need and provided it. Thank you so much for a perfect stay. We will be back.

Wonderful accommodations in Newport!

One of the best rentals we've ever stayed at. The house was fantastic, the room was immaculate and charming, the brand new porch area was very inviting.We were only there for one night, but would have definitely liked to stay longer. The owners really took care of making sure that the room had everything we could have imagined needing! Being able to bring our dog and have her feel comfortable in the room was fantastic! The house was in walking distance to downtown and the Cliff Walk. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this property to anyone looking for a stay in Newport!

Spent two nights for my birthday. Could not ask for more. Beautiful aesthetic, immaculate and comfortable. Loved our time and definitely plan on visiting this gem again in the Spring.

Cozy in the Fall

Our stay was in November and we traveled from Florida to enjoy some cooler weather and enjoy the history of the Northeast. Check in was easy and communication was excellent. The room was equipped with everything we needed. It was very clean and in a beautiful safe neighborhood.

Great 4 Day Getaway

Just want to leave a quick review. The King Room w/Kitchenette at the Admiral Sim’s house was the perfect spot for us for our Newport 4 day getaway. Very clean room, clean bathroom with everything you might need for your stay. Kitchenette was just the perfect size for everything we needed, bed was very comfortable, location is fantastic to get anywhere around Newport. Also you couldn’t ask for a nicer, more responsive host! Thank you again!

Great place to stay!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The property is beautiful with lots of charm and character. The property managers weee very accommodating offering lots of amenities and personal touches that you wouldn’t get at a hotel. The location was perfectly tucked away from the busy streets but also an easy walk or drive to anything you want to see or do. The room was cozy and very clean upon arrival. Highly recommend staying here.

Charming Retreat

Admiral Sims house was so charming and quaint. Our room was beautiful, clean and peaceful. Super high ceilings and natural light. The bed was sooo comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. Marie and Shelley were a pleasure. We were walking distance to everything if you do t mind walking 15 min. We would definitely book the Admiral Sims house again.
