Newly renovated, Reserved Parking, Rooftop Deck, HVAC Steps to Bay Beach & Shops

Mariners cottage has become a well known home on the island dating back to the early 1920's. The cottage attracts several visitors and pedestrians walking by. The Cottage is one of the few on the island that will still take you back to its heritage though without depriving you of the luxuries of today. This 2nd story cottage is totally private with its own entrance and 1 covered parking space. There is one large bonus/bedroom with two queen beds adjacent to a full bath. The Bedroom overlooks the cottage courtyard. The space also offers a main living room equipped with an electric fireplace. A fully functioning kitchen with new appliances adjoins the living room. The home is fully stocked to include: dining and cookware, linens pillows and blankets, towels, iron, etc. There is an onsite washing machine and dryer free of charge. Enjoy an inviting outdoor patio with dining furniture for 4. Bicycles, water toys, and all the excursions you can imagine are available within walking distance!

The lower unit with accommodations for 4 additional guests is also available upon request if you have a larger party and would like to have both. This would include an additional complete home with kitchen, dining, living space, office, bedroom and full bath, as well as a large downstairs courtyard with hot tub. One additional parking space also included.

This is my second visit at Mariners cottage. This time it was a couple of weeks before Christmas. The weather was warm with hardly a breeze. The homes were festive and beautifully decorated for the holiday season. The cottage itself remains comfortable and functional. The beds and linen were amazing. The community is very dog friendly and you are always met with a hello or good morning on your walk.It’s a beautiful place to reflect and be thankful. Chase makes the experience easy and he’s very on top of things.

We loved the location of this cottage. We walked around the island every night after our yummy desserts. Inside the cottage was spacious and very comfortable. Perfect for my husband and I. We loved the fireplace and the outside deck. We will definitely be back!

This cute upstairs unit is in a great location on Balboa Island, and we would absolutely stay here again. We appreciated the carport parking and included toiletries and kitchen staples. The wifi was strong, and it was nice to have a little desk in the bedroom. Communication and check-in instructions were clear. The host was friendly and responded quickly to a couple questions in advance of the stay. My only suggestion is to replace the mattresses when possible as they sag a bit and have body impressions, which affect comfort. Overall, it was an excellent stay and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this unit to friends.

We had a great stay at this cottage on the Island. It was so perfect for us! Having much more space than a just a hotel room, a fully stocked kitchen, even a Brita water pitcher in the fridge plus the outdoor deck was such a bonus for morning coffee and evening wine! Will definitely stay here again. The owner was so easy to work with also!

We had a wonderful stay at the Mariner Cottage. It was a safe, clean, and peaceful home base for exploring Balboa Island, Newport Beach, and Huntington Beach. We loved having a parking spot, since we didn't drive the entire time; rather, we rode bikes and took the Balboa Ferry over to the Peninsula. Communication with our host, Chase, was 10/10. Thank you for making it an easy, stress-free stay, allowing us to focus on enjoying the area. :)

We are older 55 and 62 we loved it very quiet at night which we like very nice restaurants we walked too which we like the beach right there met nice people we took our multi poo she was great so I’m glad because it was very pet friendly everywhere we went people fell in love with her communication with host excellent We will be back more often now that we have experienced this location

Another Great Getaway

We always enjoy our week at Chase’s cottage. We celebrated Mother’s Day, had beautiful weather and were lucky enough to add a couple of extra days to our vacation. We looked forward to having coffee in the morning and a glass of wine at night out on the new deck furniture. Until next time!!

Wonderfully relaxing stay!

I and my daughter stayed at the cottage for 6 days. We really appreciated the cozy, clean and well equipped cottage. The area was beautiful and well situated at Balboa Island. Chase was such a great landlord, responding swiftly to all our queries. We are so grateful for the kind hospitality and we can warmly recommend this vacation rental!

Just Right

Great communication and just a very well maintained cottage loft feel here. Outdoor patio is a surprise with really comfortable seating and just a great place to hang out. We easily walked downtown and to the water. The property had great storage for our “stuff” too which was appreciated. Really good shower and just a fun place to stay.

Best Cottage on Balboa Island

I’ve been staying on Balboa Island at least 3 times a year for the past 30 years, and this updated cottage is one of the best beach cottages my wife and I have ever rented! Excellent price point and a beautiful remodel with a lot of space for two adults.

Wonderful getaway!

Wonderful place to stay! Everything was nicely updated and clean. Location is excellent to the downtown of Balboa Island. Great outdoor deck to enjoy mornings and evenings. Very comfortable place overall. Would highly recommend and would stay again!
