MALLARD COTTAGE is a great place for couples to spend quality time together away from the stresses of daily life. It is also very popular with honeymooners and couples who want to celebrate special events such as wedding anniversaries and reunions.


DESCRIPTION OF PROPERTY

This cute little cottage with vaulted post and beam ceilings features a well equipped kitchen and a tiled bathroom with shower, shampoo, liquid soap, conditioner and hair dryer. The bedroom has a queen bed and a door leading onto the spacious wrap around deck which boasts stunning views across Robert Treman Park towards Ithaca.

There is a pull out couch in the living area for a THIRD PERSON at an additional cost.

High speed internet and a 32' TV screen with sound bar for streaming movies and playing music are available.

The deck is equipped with a small gas grill, chaise lounge chairs and a dining set with sun umbrellas.

Well behaved and socially adjusted PETS are welcome. Dogs must be dog-friendly and people-friendly. They may roam our premises unleashed, swim in our pond and run on our large lawn.

Please note that breakfast is NOT provided!

Mallard Cottage is powered by solar energy and green practices are actively observed.

Well behaved pets can be left alone in the Cottage as long as they are not noisy and/or damage the property. Dogs have to be people and dog friendly.

The cottage is wonderful! My partner and I had an incredible stay. Very comfortable, very cozy. Our dog Sandy also loved the property and meeting the owners' dog, Sally. We would love to stay here again if we ever come back to the area.

Tranquil and charming country property

We had a lovely stay in this charming cottage in New Field.The host Inez is an avid gardner and there were flowers and birds through out the property. We had our 2 dogs with us and they were greeted by the owner's sweet Golden Retriever. There is a huge deck to grill and eat outside on and beautiful views to enjoy the setting sun.

Very nice cottage on beautiful, natural grounds . A panoramic view of the hills and valleys. Lovely colorful flowers everywhere. The hoists were very friendly, as was their dog :) Very close to Ithaca and a short drive to Watkins Glen. I highly recommend this peaceful summer Alpine setting.

Fantastic stay for us and our pup

We really enjoyed our stay at the Mallard Cottage. A great base to explore the eastern Finger Lakes and Ithaca. Incredibly close to Robert H Treman park and it's gorgeous waterfalls. Beautiful, well maintained property with gorgeous flowers and plenty of space for our dog to run around and play. He had the best vacation of his life. Also the fireflies were magical, they put on quite a show every evening. Inez and Tom were wonderful hosts and were quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had. Would highly recommend!

Mallard Cottage is a gem!

We had a wonderful stay at the Mallard Cottage. Views from the deck were spectacular, witnessed a full moon rising in the East and delighted in the beautiful end of day light glowing in the fields below. The cottage was bright and airy with several windows affording views and natural light. Clean and cozy and had everything we could possibly need. .

First visit to the Finger Lakes

We were excited to find this gem of a property that also welcomes pets. It was our first visit to the Finger Lakes and we got to see some of the highlights (Watkins Glen, Buttermilk Falls, wineries) within easy driving distances. We will happily stay here again.

Perfect cozy cottage

Spent a relaxing long weekend at Mallard Cottage. Peaceful atmosphere, well appointed with the necessities, and two cute pups greeting us at arrival and again at various points throughout our stay. We’ll be back!

Beautiful & Serene

Beautiful area quiet and serene. Dogs were cute Inez was very nice. Our private deck was so nice to sit and eat or drink coffee. The house and outside was perfect for my partner and I. We would def choice again. Convenient to the best waterfalls (Robert Treman Park and stone bend was a mile away w great wood fire pizza.

Great location - very restful and beautiful but close to lots to see

We so enjoyed our stay with Inez and Tom - best hosts ever. There when you needed them but privacy when you wanted it. Beautiful location and Inez’s gardens are stunning. Two friendly golden retrievers was icing on the cake for our Labrador - a truly dog friendly place.

Seriously, Dog Friendly

If you are looking for a place to bring your dogs, this is truly dog friendly. Comfortable and adorable accommodations. You will find everything you need for a comfortable stay. A beautiful deck to enjoy and the scenery is plentiful. The owners are so accommodating and their dogs will be waiting for your arrival. We cannot wait to return in the summer months.

Beautiful Cottage located near Ithaca and Cayuga wine trail

We had a wonderful stay at Inez and Tom's! They were very responsive and friendly, and the cottage was beautiful and clean. The coffee and hot chocolate was much appreciated. Their property hosts beautiful gardens and has been certified as a monarch butterfly sanctuary. If you are a dog lover, you will enjoy Sally and Floyd greeting you every morning. The property is about a 15 minute drive to downtown Ithaca and about 30 minutes to many cayuga wineries (sheldrake, hosmer, lucas, etc.). It's also right around the corner from Treman state park. We will definitely be back!

Peaceful and quiet

We very much enjoyed our stay at Mallard Cottage. Inez and Tom are very welcoming as are their two dogs. It’s a quiet country retreat but is close to Wegman’s and several restaurants as well as Buttermilk Falls and Treman State Park. Our dog loved the time he spent at the cottage and definitely gives it a 5 dog bone rating!

Just what we were looking for!

We really needed to get away from our lives for a couple days (Wife, kids and pup). Knowing that we wanted to visit Watkins Glen, we found this nice little cottage about 30 minutes away. The best surprise of all was the Robert H Treman State Park. We actually enjoyed it way more than Watkins Glen and it is literally 5 minutes from the cottage. We were late for check in and the owners were still very accommodating and kind. Would recommend to all!!

Peaceful Stay

We wanted to stay somewhere central to Watkins Glen, Robert H. Treman State Park and Ithaca for a weekend away. This location was perfect for that. The cottage is comfortable and our stay was pleasant and relaxing. I enjoyed sitting on the deck in the morning, watching the sun rise, while I was visited by Sally and Floyd- the friendly dogs that live on the property. Inez was very knowledgeable about the area and she was also approachable and kind. We will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful property

Hidden away yet close to alternative Treman trailhead Tiny but efficient My Cornell daughter and I stayed here while my friends were nearby in alternative property Inez made a point of meeting us (she has bed and breakfast next door) and showing us around the cottage Dogs are friendly and a fun addition My daughter and I were on foot waiting for my friends the next morning and were hungry and realized there was only one option within several miles ; stone farms and brewery about 0.7 mI up the road We contemplated asking Inez about any bed and breakfast food that might be available but it was an odd time at this point so didn’t want to impose I had originally booked this place for travel w a friend and his dog ; when the dog became terminally ill, and we could not travel, Inez was accommodating and allowed me to change the reservation to several months later (this trip) we made the most of our stay despite the change in circumstances and appreciate her flexibility She gave us good recommendations on wineries and local farm to table restaurants as well

Great home base for hiking waterfalls!

We were blessed to be able to spend a week at this great cottage! Although the rain kept us from enjoying the large deck as much as we would have liked, it was a great place with a beautiful view to enjoy morning coffee. On mornings when we couldn't sit out there, we were able to enjoy the view from the double glass doors in the living area. The cottage is very thoughtfully laid out. There is ample space to unpack all of your things. The bed was super comfortable, and we even inquired about the mattress. We did not do a lot of cooking, but there was ample cookware and utensils for our use. We had our little dog with us, and she enjoyed running the back meadows. It was nice to be somewhere where dogs are not just allowed, but actually welcomed. The location was close to several parks with waterfalls, and an easy drive into Ithaca. Inez and Tom are great hosts and have a lot of knowledge of the area. They clearly want you to enjoy your stay! We would highly recommend this cottage!

Perfect getaway for 2!

We stayed 3 nights on our Finger Lakes area vacation. Mallard Cottage is located in the country about 20 minutes southwest of Ithaca near Robert H Treman State Park & an easy drive to the Watkin Glens area on Seneca Lake or super close to Cayuga Lake. The cottage is a perfect get away for 2 & offers a beautiful view of the countryside. It has a full kitchen & comfortable accommodations.
