Check-in desk greeted my family with a very threatening tone. Told us that if we’d arrived 1-hour later that the reservation would have been canceled. Note - we arrived before midnight… and we are driving cross country. AND the room was non-refundable… meaning that they’d received full payment for the room already. Why would you threaten to cancel my fully paid reservation?
Additionally, the pet fee was double what I have paid at other Marriott properties. They told us it would have been cheaper if we had booked on the Marriott app. That is total B.S. You pay pet fees upon check-in. We let it go because we are not one to argue.
Additionally, we booked on Expedia because it was my family traveling - and my adult aged kids don’t have the Marriott account to check in. So - the hotel staff just felt the need to point out that they are not Marriott members and thus didn’t deserve to have their prepaid room held for them and that they needed to pay double pet fees? Sorry that the hotel staff was just having a bad day?
Not sure why we warranted such an aggressive reception.
