"Stafff was great. Campground was ok but turned into a party zone at night. Music screaming yelling slamming doors constantly. I ppacked up and left for a hotel at 1 am. Party on both ends was going strong. "

"My kids, grandkids ages 8-17 stayed for 4 days in December. It was nice that the house was decorated. We enjoyed the hot tub and the ping pong table. We visited the Farnsworth House nearby which was really interesting!"

"We loved the house! It is in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood and worked out great for our visit to Lewis University. It appears to be newly remodeled and updated. The kitchen is fully stocked with plenty of supplies for 12 people. The hosts were very accommodating and responsive."

"The property was "as advertised" but really the beauty of this space couldn't be captured by the photos. It had modern amenities but felt like you were stepping into the past at the same time. The covered but open porch overlooking the Illinois River was also more stunning than the photos could reflect. "The cabin was nice, and the kitchen had everything we needed. It was mostly ok so I just point to negatives. I was disappointed with the outdoor areas. The decks were in poor condition, covered with debris and fallen brush. One section of the guardrail was broken, which was concerning. The garage was unusable, we had to park our cars outside. "Close to downtown Ottawa which made it very convenient for our weekend activities. The home is located next to a railroad track; there were a handful of trains that passed through while we were there but nothing too disruptive. Plenty of room in the apartment."

"What a great stay! This home was perfect for us. Just minutes away from Starved Rock, Buffalo Rock, Matthiessen, and Illini State Parks! "Beautiful scenic view of the river. First time fishing for my son, who absolutely adored it! Thank you for the host for being so generous and letting us borrow his fishing supplies. Neighbors were nice. The state park was fun to visit too. We grilled, made s'mores, relaxed, and had an amazing long weekend. Would highly recommend. "
