"This is an excellent country hotel, about 1.5 miles down a lane from the main a1, it’s quiet and peaceful and although in need of refurbishment, which it’s getting after November this year, is still extremely nice. "The views of the Simonside hills were wonderful The staff were amazing and the food wow thats the best lamb i ever had massive portions cooked to perfection. The cooked breakfast was wonderful again cooked to perfection. I cant wait to go back."

"The property is an 18th century coach house so don’t expect brand new anything, that being said the place is full of character, but the most important part of this inn are the excellent staff, mostly Maureen (Mo) and Gracie. They were superbly professional yet warm and welcoming and made our 2 day stay a pleasure. The food was excellent (well done Becca) with a great choice. The room was spotless and clean as was the bathroom, would definitely go back and probably will. Well done all."

"Lesley and stephen were great hosts , bed was so comfy , linen so fresh . Internet access was simple . Was able to park round the back . Breakfast was excellent. Great choice , definitely recommend this beautiful B&B to anyone . "

"We stayed in the family room which was large and spacious.The food was great we had steak and Guinness pie which was lovely .The breakfast was great .An enjoyable area ,we will look to stay again to explore the area a bit more as we stayed here on our way to Scotland "

Well situated, clean, room was comfortable, the bathroom although was private is in a weird location, like 25 meters away from your room, and the water pressure in yhe shower kit was nil, we had to duck to have the handset lower so the water could come out. Other than that the bar has good beers, wine and snacks, and also an Indian restaurant, which to be honest the restaurant manager wanted to fool us, we ordered a plate spicy, like Indian spicy, and we got the super...
