  • Welcome to this Pedestal home, which is a unique and fun place to have a getaway in Wild and wonderful West Virginia!

    Great for a Couples getaway!

    Close to WVU, stop in when touring, visiting your kids, friends, Football Games, Events.

    Lake and Golf Views!

    Lake ->
    Head down and rent a Kayak or paddleboard at the marinas, or bring your pole and do some fishing down by the bridge. Pontoon, and Jet Ski rentals are typically available as well nearby for Cheat Lake.

    GOLF -> Grab a round of golf at Lakeview Golf course, experience the 600yard Par-5 18th. Jack Nicholas and Arnold Palmer played a match there in the 60's; recently renovated course and club house. Resonably priced as well.
    Also nearby is Mountainview Course as well as others.

The Escape Pod was a very unique and fun stay. The house had everything we needed to enjoy the time we had there. It was nice to be able to stay in Cheat Lake with a nice view. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Really enjoyed our stay. Such a cool and unique place. The kids absolutely loved it. Great view, really clean and communication with owner was great.

We came to West Virginia to visit relatives and reminisce about my summers in West Virginia. This place was awesome clean neat and communication with the host was excellent. We will be back when we come to West Virginia. Thank you so much!

We had a great stay at the escape pod. Bryan was very quick to respond. Location was beautiful! Hot tub was fantastic… adding robes was a pleasant surprise. Highly recommend!

Bryan was very accommodating and went out of his way to help us after I made a mistake with booking. The house was clean and cozy, I loved looking out the windows at night. Nearby hiking at Cooper’s Rick was amazing too!

We had a great stay at the Escape Pod! Plenty of room for our family of five. We had our groceries delivered, the kitchen was fully stocked with all of the things we needed to make breakfast, lunch and dinner! Great views, super quiet and very clean.

Absolutely loved the escape pod. Neat, clean, great location. We had a boat and 2 cars with ample parking. Excellent communication from owner. Highly recommend a visit.

Unique

This was a fun and unique place to stay at. It was all on one floor primarily so there wasn't a need to climb the spiral staircase, thankfully. The hot tub was perfect and the beds were comfy.

Long weekend at Cheat Lake

Stayed at the Escape Pod while helping our son move into his apartment in Morgantown. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay! The pod is such a unique, fun place to stay. Loved the attention to detail throughout. Comfy beds, great kitchen, lots of outdoor seating. The hot tub is a great extra. Will definitely stay again!

Amazing little place

Unique "tiny house" like listing, plenty of space for couples though. Clean. Stocked for cooking. Great views of the lake. Nice hot tub too!

Wonderful stay at the Escape Pod

Everything at the Escape Pod was just as listed. The property was clean and well stocked. The hot tub was a nice way to warm up after a cold day watching a Mountaineer win.

Ladies weekend

Amazing property in the morgantown/cheat lake area. Its well kept, has great amenities like a hot tub and close to the lake, Coopers rock park and great restaurants. The owner was responsive whenever we had issues. It was a perfect getaway for the all girls weekend I organized for my friends. Can't recommend it enough!

Quaint place to stay

It was a nice getaway for our 35th anniversary and the pod was very unique. A privacy wall for hot tub area from the busy road would be a nice addition. Other than the poor condition of the road leading to the property, everything was great!

OUTSTANDING!

Great home with walls of windows and a 180° unobstructed view from the 2nd floor! The natural setting of the property in a quiet wooded setting was very peaceful and relaxing! The professional landscaping was perfect! Amenities galore. Wished we could have stayed longer. The host was very responsive and accommodating.

Perfect Escape

I loved the Escape Pod. It was a bright clean, unique space. I love the design of the house. It was perfect for a weekend away. There were cool features, such as the island drawer fridge and freezer and the fabulous spiral staircase. We had snow one day which made for a fantastic view out over the lake. The hot tub was great and one of the features we were looking for in a weekend rental. All in all a very cool space which was the perfect setting for a wonderful weekend.
