I rarely write reviews, but my experience at Bahia Principe was so disappointing and deceptive that I feel obligated to warn others.
From the moment I arrived, things started off on the wrong foot. Despite confirming my booking well in advance, I was checked in hours late, left waiting around with no explanation or apology. When I finally got to my room, it was clear the resort was not as advertised — many of the amenities and facilities were either broken, out of service, or simply didn’t exist as promised online.
The biggest issue by far was the food and cleanliness. I became seriously ill during my stay, and I have every reason to believe it was from the poorly handled food and filthy dishware and utensils. This was not an isolated case — it was a pattern. Every time I tried to eat, I was either served cold, undercooked food or noticed my plates and forks were still dirty. It’s clear they are not following basic hygiene standards, which is deeply concerning for a resort serving so many guests.
To make matters worse, the staff was consistently rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. Instead of being treated like a welcomed guest, I was made to feel like an inconvenience anytime I asked for basic assistance. There was a total lack of hospitality — no warmth, no professionalism, no care.
