Escape to this spacious retreat with a hot tub and everything you need to get away. The wooden interior will take you to a rustic cabin with all the modern amenities you need.

Enjoy some alone time in the loft reading a book or play a game with the family at the large table. Gather around the fire pit, relax in the hot tub, fish in the pond, or get cozy around the wood stove. Settle down on the large deck to enjoy the mountain air, watch the sunset over the trees, or just listen to the sounds of nature.

Our cabin features a private bedroom downstairs with a queen size bed and an upstairs loft with 3 separate sleeping areas. A full bed area with it's own balcony, an area with 2 twin sized beds and another area with 2 queen sized beds. Big enough for the whole family! The large great room has plenty of things to keep you busy should you decide to stay inside. Or find many outdoor activities on site such as hiking and fishing in the private pond, or take a short drive from the cabin for all your outdoor experiences.

Find yourself enjoying the beautiful mountains of Virginia while not missing the amenities of home. Full kitchen and even a stocked coffee bar.

While there is no cell reception at the cabin, we do have WiFi for all your connectivity needs. Want to make it a device free weekend? - don't share the password!

Located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains you will find yourself only miles away from Crabtree Falls (largest cascading waterfalls east of the Mississippi), an abundance of hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail), and fishing holes galore (stocked ponds as well as stocked and native trout streams).

Within an hour drive to skiing, golf courses and the well known restaurants, breweries, distilleries and wineries on Nelson 151.

Guests will pass the country store and gas station on the way in, less than 3 miles away. Once you turn off of Route 56 (Crabtree Falls Highway) the road is gravel from about a mile in all the way to the cabin. There are sections that may be difficult to traverse in inclement weather (snow/ice). Please proceed with caution. 4WD or AWD recommended in the winter.

Security cameras are located at the front door, overlooking the pond and on the front corners of the house. Cameras are turned off for your stay after check-in.

Dogs are allowed- please be sure to include them in your reservation and pay the fee.

Absolute Gem Hideaway!

My wife and I spent Valentine’s weekend up there and absolutely loved everything about it! Secluded, quiet, in excellent condition, and the owners are easy to communicate with and fabulous. We will DEFINITELY be going back!One warning: When I say it’s secluded, it is SECLUDED. 30-45mins to any “civilization,” which for us was PERFECT!

We came to Rowdy’s Retreat hoping for a relaxing weekend in the mountains and that is EXACTLY what we got! This house is incredible, from the hot tub to the fireplace, everything is just perfect. We were also blessed because of the recent snowfall prior to our arrival. It felt like we were inside a snowglobe! We loved our visit and hope to return again soon in the summer.

Best weekend trip ever!

My friends and I loved staying at this property, it was the perfect weekend getaway. Jaclyn is an awesome host, her place is so welcoming and has everything we needed. She’s super responsive and great to VRBO with. We did a hike out at Crabtree Falls to take in peak fall which was a short drive and the hot tub afterwards was the perfect reward. We loved our time here and definitely plan to come back! Thank you so much!

Tranquil

The pictures don’t do this home justice. It is absolutely beautiful with everything you could possibly need. The setting is exactly what we needed. We felt like we were the only two people in the mountains. The night sky was splendid especially for seeing the Milky Way and the meteor shower. It comes this week every year. It was my one wish for my 61st birthday and it didn’t disappoint. It was wonderful reliving some of my cherished childhood memories. Thank you for sharing this secluded home with us. We hope to be back at some point.

Highly Recommended if you like to Decompress and Enjoy Nature

We all had a great time and enjoyed our “ mini annual family vacation”, Memorial Day & Anniversary ( 31 years me and my husband). Loved how stocked your place was and the cute welcome package ☺️. The kids enjoyed catching tadpoles and minnows in the pond. We do wish there were more fish to catch, but there was plenty more to do. The hot tub was quite a hit and the quality of all the furniture inside and out was admired! A BIG storm came through and the power did go out the night before we had to leave and we were a little nervous about how we were going to get everything cleaned (ie ….like vacuuming, last loads of laundry ) and not having any wifi or phone service should we need help but thankfully the power was restored during the night and we kept everyone entertained with the games that were available and between us we had flashlights and battery operated lanterns but that just made our stay more adventurous! We loved making family memories at your place and hope you enjoyed your gifts as well. ( my daughter put her heart and soul into the custom sign and she wanted to share her work by leaving some of what she does at your place ) !! Thanks for making our stay a lifetime memory and we hope to book another stay in the future!!

Race Weekend

My family and I rented the cabin to find a quiet place to relax while I ran a ultra marathon. The cabin is in an absolutely peaceful location. The cabin was beautiful inside and out. The host really did a great job in making sure you had everything you needed and more to be comfortable and happy. We are already planning our next visit.

If I could rate higher, I would. In a heartbeat.

Immediately as soon as you arrive you can clearly see that the love Jaclyn has for the place is tangible. The cleanliness, the amount of provisions that were provided, the appliances, everything. The closer you look, the better it gets. Jaclyn has now set the gold standard for us when it comes to picking a stay. I don’t have enough good things to say about this place, it's fantastic and worth every penny. Thank you so much!!!!

Friend get away

This property was great. From the owner to the location. We just wanted to get away to unplug and reconnect with some friends. This location is quite and is close to many activities. I recommend this location for anyone who was to relax with family or friends.
