"The “Cozy one bedroom townhome” at Fond du Lac was not as it appeared on the listing. It was tiny. The bathroom was dirty, with a variety of black hair on the floor, indicating it had not been cleaned. It was disgusting. The bed was placed so that the air conditioner had to blast all night on one person’s head. We had to strip our own bed and there were stains on the mattress pad, further contributing to the impression of uncleanliness. When I complained to the owner, he did not even...

"The character of the house shines through and is lovely to spend time in. The little sun room off the kitchen we ended up in often. There is no dishwasher but washing dishes by hand in the vintage sink is enjoyable. Overall an easy process. The stairs could be tricky for some people (old house small stairs). But we had no issues. The agency that runs the home is quick and responsive and proactive. Overall great and pet friendly is a plus."

"My husband and I just had the absolute best stay at this amazing little cottage on the Fond du Lac River! If you are looking for a perfect getaway just down the river from Lake Winnebago, this is absolutely the place to book. The cottage itself is incredibly cute, beautifully decorated, and was spotless when we arrived. "Excellent stay! We couldn’t be happier with our time at this cottage. We enjoyed using their four complimentary kayaks (they had life jackets and paddles for us), had a fire at night (host supplied free chopped firewood), grilled out burgers on the grill, and rented a pontoon boat and wave runner (Lake Winnebago Boat & WaveRunner Rentals is next door. The host (Brad) who owns this cottage also owns the boat rental place next door). We even did some fishing (there is a bait shop also next door)...

"The pictures are extremely misleading. The place is very dingy. There’s a bedroom downstairs that’s mostly fine, but the sleeping arrangements for the other eight upstairs are a very tight attic without separate rooms. There’s one bathroom and the water pressure is subpar. The outside of the building is pretty rundown. Everything worked. And communication was good. Great parking behind the unit. The AC worked fine."
