Our family of 13 had a wonderful time in Moneta and loved this house! The bedrooms were nice-sized and comfortable. The kitchen was roomy and well-stocked, though some basic things like salt and pepper would have been helpful. The wrap-around porch was a wonderful place to sit and read or just relax. We would love to stay here again!

We had an amazing time here for our family reunion. The home had several gathering areas and we used them all. The house was very clean and we had everything we needed. Pool, hot tub, fire pit, pool table, corn hole, all amazing. We had rainy weather most of our stay but still used all the outdoor spaces. The kitchen was well equipped. Everything worked well, no issues at all.

We enjoyed a week here with ages 1.5 to 90 and the home had all the space we needed to be comfortable throughout our stay.The host was prompt in responding to all our concerns. Even though the lake level being low prevented us from accessing the lake, the host helped us find alternatives. There is no lake view to speak of at this home so if that is a priority, choose another location.The house is located conveniently to stores and necessities. We found take out easily when we didn’t want to cook.Well appointed home with great outdoor space for family of all ages. The fireflies were magical every night.

My overall stay was awesome. The amenities were superb. The suggested Farmhouse Catering Service was awesome and the food was delicious. The family really enjoyed the stay and we really enjoyed our stay. The various activities available was great as well. The only concern was the very steep driveway to get to the property and taking the trash up to the top of the driveway was a chore. Everyone spoke of how steep of a decline/incline (even neighbors) it was. Some reflectors or lights especially at night would be great if possible.

This was an amazing house, and our family of 18 (3 generations) had a wonderful time! Very clean! The kitchen had everything we could possibly need. The outdoor seating/furniture/atmosphere was fantastic. The pool was perfect for all ages. The hot tub was great too! The beds in every room were the most comfortable of any house we have stayed in, although this was our first time at SML. For 35 years we've been going to the OBX. We may have a new annual vacation place. The host was extremely fast in responding to any questions that arose. Even with the historic drought and low water level, we were able to enjoy our boat on the lake.

Perfect for our annual family vacation

The property was beautiful with a great pool and dock. All ages (84 yrs to 7 months old) enjoyed hanging out by the pool. Playing pool, or sitting out on the covered deck playing games and music. Location was convenient to restaurants and grocery store.

Beautiful home with well stocked kitchen for cooking, plenty of dishes for large gathering! Grocery store within a mile, catering services we used were nearby and wonderful. Activities nearby and activities at the house as well. The owner was responsive to all questions & concerns and communication was timely. Would stay again!!

We loved our long weekend stay at Firefly with our family. The weather cooperated and we were able to enjoy the awesome pool and spend most of our time outside. Everything was just as stated in the listing. The kitchen was well stocked We would definitely stay here again. The only issue we had was at the dock. The lake was lower than normal which made the dock very high above the water. It was difficult for us to get in & out of the kayaks and boat. We noticed other properties had floating docks which would have made it a little easier. Overall it was an amazing place to stay.

Wonderful family vacation house

Our gang of 15 had a wonderful week at the Firefly Estate. The house is huge and very clean. We swam in the pool and the lake every day. Enjoyed the paddle board and kayak. Played lots of ping pong, grilled many dinners, enjoyed a outside fire, played games and ate together on the large dining table, appreciated the AC and fans in the house while it was 90 outside; had great communication with the host and our needs/requests were accomodated quickly. There was lots of space for those of us needing to work to find a spot in the house. It was a great week.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Firefly Estate. Myself and six other buddies had plenty of room to spread out and really enjoyed the extra space and bathrooms. The hot tub was absolutely divine with jets that were powerful and therapeutic. The deck off the living room was accessible, inviting, and comfortable.Our stay would have been more enjoyable if the kitchen would have been better equipped. There were TONS of dishes, pots and pans, silverware, cups and glasses. However, typically, and in particular when an upscale house is rented, certain consumables are included such as spices, sugar, cooking oil, cleaning agents, brushes/sponges, foil, garbage bags, etc. In our case, there wasn't even salt and pepper! No, the description does not say such things are provided, BUT . . . I would highly recommend these type consumables be procured and made available to future guests.We'd also recommend providing a book that includes instructions for the hot tub, smart TVs, fire pit, fire place, etc.Also, we were unable to dine on the deck outside as it was COVERED in pollen. Although the cleanliness level for the rest of the house was acceptable, this area was apparently overlooked by the cleaning crew.

We spent a month at Firefly Estate and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We have visited SML for 5 years during October, but due to our previous rental being sold, we had to find another place to stay. Luckily, we found Firefly Estate. The house was amazing and looked and smelled brand new. Exceptionally clean. We were amazed to see the number of bedrooms and private bathrooms throughout. The kitchen was beyond fully stocked - we like to cook and had no problem finding kitchen tools during our stay. If you prefer to go out, you are so close to restaurants and local stores you can eat out and be home in just a few minutes without the long and twisty drive like other places. The house has a fantastic saltwater heated pool. Even in October with the chilly nights, the water was warm and refreshing during the mild days and cool nights. For those of us who wanted something warmer, the new & large hot tub was available. The house also has a great dock allowing you to park a boat under a covered area with electricity nearby. We caught many stripers and nice bass during our stay. The house is in a cove with approximately 4 other rentals. During our stay we saw a few other guests, but with the layout of the area we had plenty of privacy and did not feel like others were piled on top of us. Most importantly, the host was amazing! Easy to chat with and offering staff support throughout our stay. Though we rarely needed anything due to the perfect home. :-). Highly recommend!
