If I could give this hotel 0 stars, I would.
I stayed at Upsun Hotel (formerly Urbanica) in Miami Beach. Their website advertises 24-hour front desk service, but staff were only consistently present around 3 PM at check-in. During check-in, staff were openly speaking negatively about prior guests in Spanish, which felt unprofessional and inappropriate.
My room phone didn’t work, so I had to use my cell to contact the front desk—calls went unanswered. The next day, I discovered the AC wasn’t working. After multiple failed attempts to reach staff and an empty front desk, I spent the day and evening trying to get help. At 11 PM, I finally reached someone who simply said, “There is nothing I can do.” No solutions, no fan, no room change—nothing, despite 85-degree heat and no ventilation. I was told it would be fixed at 8 AM. No one came. After repeated calls, I finally reached staff at 9:45 AM, who claimed they couldn’t help because the technician was off. I was given inconsistent and clearly false explanations about why I wasn’t contacted. The issue went unresolved for nearly 24 hours, and no one ever inspected the unit.
When I spoke to the manager, she was dismissive, rude, and offered no meaningful resolution. This level of service is unacceptable. No communication, no accountability, and no basic hospitality. Save your money and stay elsewhere
