This cabin was perfect for our long weekend getaway to celebrate a big family milestone. The hosts were super communicative and friendly! If we’re ever in Mentone again, we won’t hesitate to rebook this place.

The property was exactly as described. The home was very well maintained and very clean. We particularly enjoyed the porch overlooking the lake and sitting around the fire pit in the evenings. Our host,David, was outstanding. He was very friendly and communicated well with us. Also the “sweet treats” that he had waiting for us on arrival were outstanding. I would rate Huckleberry Haven and our host more than 5 stars if I could.

We had the best time at HH. Beautiful home and that was cozy and comfortable for everyone. David is a fabulous host and made sure we did not need a thing! The extra goodies on the table were a special touch. My family says we will definitely stay at HH again soon!

It was a beautifully decorated home. It was clean and inviting and everything was just perfect! The large dining table was fantastic for eating and playing cards. We had plenty of space for the whole family, and the back porch was amazing! We had nice views of the pond and woods! Especially enjoyed that it was pet friendly. We would definitely consider a return trip!

Huckleberry Haven was very cozy, all necessities were provided, it felt like being at home. David, the manager, kept in contact to be sure we had everything we needed. I would strongly recommend a stay here. There are lots of places to visit in the area and some very good resturants.

A Serene Stay

I would rate this stay 10 stars if I could! A huge shout out to the host David who stayed in contact with us and answered any questions I had with quick response times. The house was absolutely gorgeous. It was very roomy for the eight of us and had everything we needed and plus for our short stay. Since we arrived in the early evening, David had the lights on for us and soft music playing for our arrival. Such a sweet touch! A thoughtful gift of ingredients were left for us to make smores on the firepit which is located in a lovely little area with plenty of seating. We loved the decor and art throughout the house. Kudos to the decorator, it is beautiful! We loved the serene quietness sitting on the porch with a view of the lake. It was so peaceful! Unfortunately, we had such a short stay of only two days, but we would definitely stay here again should we ever visit the Mentone area again. Thank you so much David for making our stay so special!

Huckleberry Haven is my favorite place to stay in Mentone. It is a beautiful home that makes you feel happy the moment you enter the front door. It has everything you could possibly need to make your vacation spectacular. If you are looking to totally relax and unwind from the busyness of life, this is your place.

We stay in short-term rentals often and this is probably our favorite rental so far. The home was very comfortable with great A/C, a seemingly endless supply of hot water, and excellent internet. My group uses Verizon for cellular service and there was no service at the home, nor in the surrounding area. The owner thought ahead and provided us with the WiFi password prior to arrival so we could connect before going into the home to stay in touch with our group and to communicate with the owner in the event there were any problems accessing the home. The owner made check-in and check-out simple, was easy to contact and quick to respond, and even left us some treats in the kitchen upon arrival. We found plenty of attractions within 20-90 minutes of the home and stayed busy during our stay. We enjoyed looking at all of the artwork and decorations within the home and considered it an attraction in itself. We would happily stay here again.

The house is so cozy, comfortable and cute! The folk art is amazing and all over the house. Every time I looked around I saw something new. Seven adults were very comfortable. Mr. Ballard is an amazing host!

Peaceful and relaxing

Stayed in Huckleberry Haven for a Girls Trip. Had a great time. Huckleberry Haven was clean and cozy but large enough to accommodate our group of 5. We had a great time. There were no issues and communication with the host was easy and he responded quickly. Highly recommend!!

Beautiful and comfortable

The listing was spot-on. Tucked back in the woods next to a large pond, the cabin sits a gorgeous location with a pastoral feel. Communication was the best we’ve experienced in our dealings with VRBO. Hope to return in the fall.

2nd Stay and just as great!

Wonderful house in a beautiful setting. Dozens of excellent works of art that were entertaining as well as intriguing. Generational Weekend Away

Multiple generations gather for time away together at least once a year. This place is one of our absolute favorites! The host is phenomenal and communicates everything you need to know. The place is perfect for spending time together as a family. We love it!!

Wonderful 8 Days!

The property is marvelous and the host is the best! The house was well-appointed with everything we needed. It was cozy, though large enough for our flow of guests. The decor is local art and you never quit noticing something new each day. We were centrally located near all the places we chose to drive. Having stayed at several VRBOs, none had met or exceeded this one!

Great Getaway

The house and rooms are larger than they appear in the photos. The area parks were very close for hiking, photo taking and the driveway added to our outdoor adventures !! Siblings Vacation

Beautiful home, the host goes above and beyond to make you comfortable. Sitting on the back porch watching the leaves fall overlooking a pond was relaxing, enjoyable, and heartwarming. Thank you again for sharing your beautiful place with us. We will be back.
