Welcome to our historic Midtown Memphis Mansion! Escape to a bygone era at the Murphy Medallion House; our charming historic mansion nestled in the heart of Midtown Memphis. Perfectly situated 6 minutes from Beale Street, 10 minutes from Graceland, and just blocks from the Medical District. The Murphy Medallion House offers the ideal blend of convenience and old-world elegance and character. Built in 1901 by a father for his daughter. This unit can be combined with Unit 2 for larger groups.

The Space:
This unit boasts 12 foot ceilings, original woodwork, a modern kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms; making it perfect for families, groups, or couples seeking a memorable getaway. This unit can be combined with unit 2 to accommodate larger groups that would still like to feel connected. Immerse yourself in the rich history of Memphis in our home as you enjoy the intricately detailed finishes and period remnants such as the foot bell that remains in the current living room (apologies, but it will not contact us!). From the grand foyer to the cozy parlors, every corner tells a story of a bygone era.

Clean and Convenient

The space was cozy and clean to be of an older style. Easy check in process and conveniently located close to downtown. The host was great.My reason for 4 stars...Parking isn't that great, if driving an SUV, because it is in the rear of the property and the entry is a tad bit narrow. That is also where the entrance to the apartment is. There is no central air in the space so it got a little warm in some areas. Overall, the space worked for our last minute weekend trip.

Spacious and Historic

The house is very nice and beds were comfortable. It was also not far from places to visit, but car recommended. It was a short visit, but comfortable and would have liked to say longer! Host is good with communication.

This property is very unique. The outside of the property of deceiving, but when you get inside you’ll be pleasantly surprised! Everything is very clean, and beautiful. It was just my husband and I, but when they say there are three beds, there are three beds, no pull out couches, or any surprises. Would definitely accommodate 6 people. Oh we ever return to Memphis, we will come back to this property.

This was a super affordable option for us as we traveled to Memphis for our daughter’s graduation. Apartment was clean, close to campus, and the owners communicated with us throughout our stay when we had questions about parking and check out. Although spots were limited in the back for parking, there was plenty of street parking out front and neighborhood seemed safe. Peabody 1 is Totally a “diamond in the rough!”. A secret gem. Thank you for making our stay amazing.

Loved!

Rental was in a great location close to downtown, and medical district. The rental was on the ground floor of a historical home and had beautiful antique features. The bedrooms were spacious and had the ability to be closed off or opened up to the hall and living room. We liked to leave them open. It made our family feel like it was a big sleep over. Although the bathrooms weren’t big the one with the shower was adequate with plenty of hot water and good water pressure. There is an Asian restaurant and boba place on the same block at the coroner. 3 minute walk. The neighborhood felt safe and we would stay again in the future.

Wondered place to stay

Such a great place to stay, very clean and the host was wonderful to talk to always got back to me if there were any questions.The neighborhood was nice and quiet, very easy check in and out...I would definitely stay here again..

Convenient Location

The house is in a very convenient location to many of the main attractions in Memphis. We had a bit of a challenge getting in, but the hosts were quick to respond and help, even though it was late in the evening.The property was clean and it's a neat old home.

5 Star Stay in Memphis!

From check-in to check out, our stay in this home was wonderful. Sabrina & Jennifer were wonderful hosts of this beautiful property. The apartment was spacious and clean, and the attention to detail was noticed. My family and I will definitely consider booking this place again when visiting our Memphis family. Thank you both for the southern hospitality.

Weekend Stay

Neat place to stay if you like history and older homes with pocket doors. The home was clean and very comfortable. The owners were easy to contact for information. Parking is a little difficult so ask and hard to find at night. We had a great stay.

We enjoyed our stay. It was centrally located so it was easy to get to everywhere we needed to go. If you enjoy older homes, then you will love the character of this home. The layout was spacious and comfortable. It met our needs perfectly and we would definitely stay here again. The host was responsive and check in/out was super easy.

Great property

This was our first time in Memphis and I must say the place was amazing. It was even nicer than the pictures and the ladies were very quick to reply with any questions I had.You can tell the property is well loved and was well taken care of. I would recommend it for anyone looking to book.

Very nice location, right in historic district

Place was in a perfect location about a mile or so from fedex forum, it’s in a neighborhood with a lot of wonderful houses, and close to restaurants, grocery store. Owners were very helpful and responsive. The only thing I would say is that there’s not a lot of stuff in the kitchen, it’s pretty sparse so if you wanted to cook you might not find exactly what you’re looking. For in terms of land and such. Two rooms are spacious one has a single bed the other has two, both rooms were comfortable. It was definitely a place we would love to stay at again. Thanks!

Good: * beautiful, historic walkable neighborhoods * just S of Union Ave, major street from Downtown 2 Midtown, & near Overton Park, large city park good 4 walking/biking/running + zoo, museum & golf course * $5-$10 car service rides 2 Cooper Young neighborhood/restaurants/bars & Overton Square entertainment district * nearby grocery stores * ample bath towels/washcloths * full size fridge & range, microwave, Keurig & ample dishes/glasses/coffee mugs in kichen Not so good: * 1st floor unit has nowhere 2 hang clothes; bedrooms are 1st floor rooms in historic 2-story home * luggage rack in bedrooms would have been nice * 1 of 2 bathrooms had t.p. holder & hooks for towels * inadequate # Keurig coffee pods for 3 adults for 4 dsys; we bought pods 2X during our stay
