"The host has clearly invested a lot of money into the property, and the cottage is very cosy, tastefully decorated, and conveniently located. However, we were advised by the host that, as long as my parents were able to use stairs, they shouldn’t have any issues. In hindsight, I would recommend being particularly careful if staying with young children, older people, or anyone with balance or mobility issues. "Place is very close to the train station and right inside one of the gates of the York city walls. My only complaint is that we booked the hotel choosing the “pay at hotel” option as we are travelling as a group of friends but one person was doing all the booking, but they charged us on the reservation credit card before we arrived, rendering that option completely meaningless to us."
