Perfecto!

This property was everything we hoped for an more. The hosts were a hoot and we felt so welcomed. My partner and I were working here for the week remotely and were on video calls most of the day and the Internet didn't flinch despite being in a very remote location. We felt really at home here. The accomodation itself was super comfortable. Its strange how many properties in Italy at this price have such poor furniture but the pig stys so so comfortable and felt like a home away from home. The pool and grounds are lush and the kitchen is great to cook in. There's also a really good butcher in town and we were able to BBQ most nights! Highly reccomend this property for somewhere off the beaten track. Great for down time and relaxing. Thank you to our amazing hosts for such a special trip. We'll definitely be back to visit soon ❤

Traumhaft schön

Die Bilder lügen nicht - das Casale Monticchio ist ein Kleinod in Umbrien. Das Anwesen ist sehr charmant, die Räume sind ansprechend und zugleich eigenwillig angenehm gestaltet. Und die beiden Vermieter sind herzensgute Gastgeber. Kurzum: Ein Quartier, das zu Wiederholungen verführt.

Idyll in Umbrien

Ein Idyll mitten in Umbrien. Großzügige, kreativ perfekt eingerichtete Wohnungen, zu jeder Wohnung eine eigene Terrasse, ein Infinity-Pool mit tollem Blick, sehr liebenswürdige, aufmerksame Gastgeber - Casale Monticchio bietet alles für einen perfekten Urlaub - mit den Sehenswürdigkeiten/Highlights der Region und guten Restaurants in Reichweite.

Idyllic peaceful setting with easy access to beautiful Umbria in splendidly design accommodation

Two of us stayed the week in the single bedroom accommodation, one of four which have been designed and converted beautifully by Andrew and Hugues, who were splendid hosts. The apartment was well equipped for self catering, although the local cuisine is excellent and had a tranquil, secluded terrace. Ate every meal on the terrace and used the BBQ extensively. The gardens are beautiful, with some interesting sculptures and lovely located infinity pool, which was a little on the cool side in June. Access is along a white track and if you visit follow Andrew and Hugues' instructions rather than rely on sat-nav as it will lead you along the more difficult route. There are nice walks from the accommodation, which if you are brave enough can include fording the river and the surrounding area is covered beautiful hilltop towns and villages - our favourites were Spello and Orvetio. Rome, Firenza and the coast are only 2 hours away if you would like trips further afield. It is a lovely quiet unspoilt part of Italy and we would recommend to anyone to stay with Andrew and Hugues.

A great place to relax, beautifully renovated, fabulous hosts

We were in a great, nicely decorated studio set slightly apart from the beautifully renovated farmhouse. Had a very quite and restful time with daily excursions (by car) into the surrounding areas. Hugues and Andrew were very welcoming and helpful hosts, very knowledgeable about the area, had great tips. We loved the cats, specially Sybil, shame she didn't want to come home with us :)

Hidden Treasure in Umbria

We have stayed at Monticchio several times, at various times of the year, staying in both Apartments 1 and 2. We intend to return as often as we can and we see it as a home-away-from-home. It is hard to know where to begin to describe this wonderful treasure but the most outstanding feature is the warm hospitality of the hosts, Andrew and Hugues. They have been most helpful from the start of the booking process, to the welcome on arrival, throughout the stay, through to our reluctant departure. The apartments at this historic property have been renovated with exceptional care, style and sensitivity. Apartment 2 is ideal for a couple or for a small family with one or two young children. It is very spacious for a one bedroom apartment. Its sun-filled private terrace looks over the tranquil rural valley beyond. The shared swimming pool is superior to many hotel pools that I have seen. It has a different aspect over the secluded valley and easy access makes it ideal for young children or infirm adults. The pool terrace is a welcome place to relax or dine al fresco, whether you are using the pool or not.

wir können uns nur den vorangegangenen Bewertungen anschliessen. Das Ist nicht einfach ein Apartement, das ist ein Arrangement. wir fühlten uns nicht wie Feriengäste, sondern wie Freunde, die in der, mit Liebe eingerichteten Gästewohnung untergebracht waren. Die beiden Vermieter Hugues und Andrew haben uns wie Freunde Willkommen geheizen, es gab zwei super nette, tolle Essen..... Der Pool fantastisch! Einfach Klasse, und Danke nochmals an die beiden Vermieter!!!

wir können uns nur den vorherigen Berwertungen anschliessen. Das ist nicht einfach ein Appartement, sondern ein Arrangement! Wir fühlten uns nicht wie Feriengäste, sondern wie Freunde, die in der mit Liebe eingerichteten Gästewohnung untergebracht waren. Die beiden Vermieter Hugues und Andrew haben uns wie Freunde Willkommen geheißen, es gab zwei super schöne, gesellige Essen, .....der Pool fantastisch! Einfach Klasse, und Danke nochmals an die Vermieter!

Brilliant place to escape

We stayed for a week last May as we were over in Italy looking for Wedding venues. Hughes and Andrew were great hosts and made us feel really welcome. The apartment was lovely and had absolutely everything we needed but our favourite bit was the pool overlooking the mountains! We're getting married in May this year and will be recommending the apartments to our guests as somewhere to stay after the wedding!

Wunderbar!!!!

Wir waren eine Woche im April 2015 in dieser wunderbaren Ferienwohnung und haben jeden Tag genossen. Die Ausstattung lässt keine Wünsche übrig (insbesondere die Küche), die Gestaltung der Räume und Außenanlagen ist sehr geschmackvoll und die Gastfreundschaft der Besitzer einfach umwerfend. Das Ferienhaus ist etwas abgelegen von daher benötigt man ein Auto. Wir haben die Ruhe und die Natur jedoch sehr genossen. Perugia liegt nur 20 Minuten entfernt. Wir haben uns so wohl gefühlt, dass wir mit Freunden im Oktober 2015 gleich das große Apartment gemietet haben.

Paradies

Wir sind über einen Reiseführer auf diese wundervolle Unterkunft aufmerksam geworden. Die Bezeichnung "Paradies" war absolut zutreffend...: wir lasen dort von einer "phantastischen Adresse in der Einsamkeit"... "mit einem Swimmingpool, der in Umbrien seinesgleichen sucht, von drei Seiten gesäumt...". Uns war sehr schnell klar, dass wir hier unbedingt Urlaub machen wollen... Die Eigentümer, Hugues und Andrew, verfügen über ein sehr guten Geschmack, was die Gestaltung der Wohnungen und des gesamten Areals anbelangt. Es findet sich ein Skulpturengarten, die "kleine" Wohnung (90 qm) verfügte über eine sehr schön angelegte, große Terrasse (mind. 25 qm) und innen über einzigartige Kunstwerke, Lampen etc. Weiterhin ist sie sehr gut ausgestattet (vielfältige Küchenutensilien, Bademäntel, Designer-Grill nebst notwendigen Grill-Utensilien etc.). Wir haben uns sehr wohl und wollten gar nicht mehr abreisen. Die sympathischen Vermieter waren sehr hilfsbereit und gastfreundlich. Alle Gäste und ein paar Freunde wurde an einem Abend zu einem köstlichen italienischen Essen mit Weinen von einem lokalen Winzer eingeladen. Zudem arrangierten auch einen Reitausflug für uns, den wir in der Nähe des Appartement unternehmen konnten. Die Wohnung als auch die gesamte Anlage ist in einem sehr gepflegten und sauberen Zustand! Es ist sehr erholsam dort. In der Region kann man sehr viele Ausflüge und Wanderungen unternehmen, z. B. nach Perugia, Assisi, zum Lago Trasimeno etc. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen. Dieses Domizil können wir wärmstens weiterempfehlen und haben bereits auch schon im Freundeskreis geschwärmt. Christine (58 Jahre) und Karen (49 Jahre)

Erholung pur

Unsere Erwartungen wurden nicht nur erfüllt, sondern bei weitem übertroffen. Das Ferienhaus und die gesamte Anlage strahlen so viel Wärme und Charme aus. Die beiden Gastgeber sind sehr herzlich und tun alles, das man sich wohl fühlt. Die fantastische Terrasse, mit tollem Ausblick möchte man gar nicht mehr verlassen.
